- What is your problem with random spotting?
when i command i spot EVERYTHING thats any where near our troup that i think they need to know about,i fuckin hate the lazy cunt commanders that sit there & just do the odd uav or arty when they can be arsed,
or worse, when they only use toys around where he's being a tool tryin to cap flags.
so dude, keep on doing the spotting,& fuck what anyone else says in the servers, aint like you'd notice half of what their saying anyway if you stay on com's screen,or just threaten to stalk the whining nubs with cartilery lol.
keep up the good work.

hmm..thats why you offered n00bs here your left nipple and right nipples for the girls? that figures..polarbearz wrote:

its all about balance, bearz.. and not overdoing the random spotting. I personally find it irritating if the commander does it continuously without any obvious tactical benefit.
how do you do that???polarbearz wrote:
Sure, the non-stop spotting may get irritating, but FFS turn down your radio volume in audio options
Do u really have BF2? Options isn't that hard to find!BUDFORCE wrote:

Maybe Im just being stupid....

no.. the right nipple is for his first apostle.. as it's slightly higher up than the left one.. thus being closer to the face of god..mikeshw wrote:

Scan then spot. Also its pointless to spot an enemy that nobody is near.
I have nothing against Commanders Spotting as long as they aren't spotting every fucking dot on the map, and spotting the same Target once before the Icon Dissappears on the Mini-Map... Its fine, just use VOIP if your gonna say where a tank or heli is, its better and it grabs peoples attention more..
Also, dont spot people that aren't even near any of your own men, cause thats just a waiste of time that you could be spent doing something else.
The only other thing i hate about commanders as much as useless spottting, is commanders flying...

I know its important to let people know whats going on, but some players just feel that the commander is spamming the comms.
I do it myself when i'm commander and get told off by people in teamspeak with me

"Theres a tank next to that Palm Tree"
"Which fucking Palm Tree"
"The one next the one that is next to that - *Tanks kills entire squad*"
"Could've just spotted it so we could use our minimaps to locate it"
I think it's good when commanders spot, especially when capping flags. I hate capping a flag without UAV, it always results in some idiot throwing several grenades into the flag. At least with the commander/spotting UAV i can spawn kill the idiot before he chucks several grenades down the flag (It's either him dead as a spawnkill or me dead due to grenades, gotta understand why i would spawnkill in a flag capping situation)
Gah, I hate those noisy Commanders whether they're actually spotting people or mising. A number of times a bored commander just sits there "Enemy Forces Spotted"-ing constantly for no obvious reason. If you tell them politely to cool it a bit, they take it as an invitation to go two-fold. If you tell them to "shut the fuck up," they take that as an invitation to go ten-fold.
Other random 'missed' spotting is mostly from people like Snipers spotting tanks and whatnot which are 'out of range'. Nothing against that when it happens, it sometimes happens to me. I try again, and if that dosn't work I don't bother.

Yeah, its pretty fucking annoying polarbearz...
Just use the UAV for the bulk of the enemies and the scan for the ones that are scatterd around the map, you don't need to spot everyone on the map, just the important ones near flags.
I could understand you doing it if you scan was broken but otherwise, just use scan.

Yea but what if your scan is down, you have only one base left (Hotel) and every time you try repairing the scan a USMC soldier destroys it?Delphy wrote:

Personally I don't have anything against random spotting, but I do have a problem with the commander spamming "Negative" or "Roger".
When I see a vehicle or a soldier in the distance that I'm unsure about - and can't look at map due to circumstances - I'll do "spotted" - just to make sure.
You cannot turn down the radio voices. The setting in the Sound Options is for the instruction voice you hear when you created a new account.
As for the random spotting, i classify everyone who complains about it or doesn't do it as commander as a player who has no clue about the game and never ever seen a clan match. I could link you to a stream of this years World Tournament final between Code7 and Exit11, guess what the commander is doing there?
Many times player requested me to stop spotting or i've been even kicked twice for spotting as commander.
Someone already replied with "There is a UAV for this, you don't need to spot." How about you guys discovering the rest of the map and i've never seen a UAV covering the whole map.
Others replied that you should only spot if you got a radar scan, why oh why should someone take a break between spotting and especially increase this break because only faded away dots will appear on the mini map if spotted.
There is a simply solution if you got the luck (!!) to have an commited and good commander on the team, disconnect, search a newb server and play there. But for god's sake, let commanders do their job.

How can I turn it down? I can't... and I can't edit/delete the commander voice in the installation folder because Punkbuster will stop me.polarbearz wrote:

The MAIN problem is this.......hardly anyone in 1000 hours of playing this game really knows how to be a good commander,,,and it sure sounds like you are one of them.I dont mind the odd spotting but 95% or so commanders call out spots like they think it's going to make some real difference.I've MAYBE....MAYBE played with a handful of GREAT commanders.YOU know the ones.....the ONES who actually issue orders to thier squads.....that actually command.ANY moron can SPAM spots but it's a rare occasion when you get one that gives orders and to me that;s the whole point of taking the position.
DEATH to SPAM COMMANDERS......you deserve to die!!!!!!!!
