I have wireless internet.

Yes, I'm sorry. But please, I can't go drilling holes in about 7 different walls to get normal internet.

My wireless internet is the most annoying piece of 'hardware' on the planet. Not only does it ONLY give me problems in battlefield 2, I cannot find any reason as to WHY it's doing it. At any random time, usually several times a minute, my game will freeze up for anywhere from .1 to 5 seconds.

That isn't the only problem I have, nonono.

My bullets don't register properly.

Now, don't go telling me I'm a noob, I need to aim, etc. I have frapsed shots, carefully watched and counted hits, and I'm very sure that I'm not missing. Heck, since I've been messing about on the BF2S EU server before the game has started, I've become even more sure: I'll carefully aim at an idlers head with an AK-101 (one headshot one kill weapon) and stand a meter or so behind him. Pull the trigger, see the dust come off his helmet, but no damage.

I'm also sure that it's my wireless internet that's the problem as I have tried moving my PC to the router so I can plug it in to the ethernet, and sure enough, no problems at all!

I would be very grateful if someone could help me out here. Just tips on how to solve wireless problems, maybe I've got something else interfering, maybe something in BF2 isn't set up properly. I don't know! please help

The wireless service you have is fine for most things, but it sucks for gaming because of severe latencies.

I get the bullet register problem in choper reguarly, I've givin up gunning. Forwarding ports on your router may speed it up just a bit, but not as much as it sounds like you need.

also turning off the encryption will help with the latency of the connection. not really recmmended though. I have a second router i use for gaming thats hooked up to the primary one, filters by mac address.

Wonder if the so called "gaming" routers would help with this....

Take a long ethernet cable and plug it from the router into your computer.

Trust me...its not your router.  Make sure punkbuster checks are set to 10 mins at least.  And update pb regularly outside the game.

If that doesnt help, forward all of your ports from your router to your comp (assuming you are the only one who will be using.)  And make sure windows manages the wireless adapter on your comp.

It is also a good idea to search...there are countless threads on this, it is most likely something about your computer.

What is the model of the router? If it is a Linksys W5RT54G(L or S) v5, than that router has severe problems in connection. It been a major complaint from everyone who has used one and been reported on many tech websites.

Ok, some more information:

Router: Asus WL-530g
Wireless adapter: Sitecom WL-115 V2
Not encrypted, I've tried but everytime I put a password on it I can't connect. at all.
Punkbuster checks are set to 500 second intervals

>I ONLY HAVE THESE PROBLEMS IN BF2<

I'm not the only person in the house using (wireless) internet so I can't forward all of the ports to my comp

As for letting windows manage the wireless adapter.. I'll try that

10 minutes? I'm pretty sure it's not allowed.

How strong is your signal?  With 8 walls (isn't that what you said?) between you and the router I'm guessing you're getting a HORRIBLE connection.  If I were you I'd pick up a decent mimo router and card.  The mimo setup uses 3 antennas on both sides so you have built in wireless redundancy.  The airlink stuff goes on sale at Fry's all the time if you have a fry's near you.
Otherwise go over to monoprice.com and get yourself a 100' or 200' network cable and run the wire under the carpet in your house.
