I have used both the MX1000 and the Diamondback. Neither of these mice have given me the percise enough movement I'm looking for in bf2.

when people say these mice improve your gameplay its bull.

my old mouse was like the G5 with all the buttons but without the high DPI etc.

there is no difference in gameplay at all.

well, I have a G7, and that is great for games... but I'll go with the MX518 because yes, it has more buttons.

really? i gotta say i use the mx1000 and i have no probs for it. crosshairs goes right where i want it to go. plus the extra buttons on mouse makes it invaluable.

I got the MX518 a couple of months ago......8/10.....only because the rear button on the left is a little to far back...but I have big hands......anyway it has made playing the game more enjoyable...

So MX518 FTW

Upgraded froma MX518 to a G5 myself..  I like the Scroll wheel side to side buttons much more than the positioning on the MX518's buttons above and below the wheel...

Add the Weighting option and the adjust on the fly DPI and you've gotyour a winner....

I LOVE being able to jump to 2000DPI whenI jump ina  tank and drop down to 400 to snipe.

get the G5. Best mouse I've ever used. Never lets me down, cept when it falls off my desk because my desk space is tiny.

Fcuk the Razr... learning curve + ppl with big hands arent comfortable = teh loose.... plus fingers get tired cuz its a finger mouse.

Fcuk the mx518; 1600 dpi < 2000... plus lazer is sexier.  Also negate that this mouse has two more thumb buttons... the _only_ downside is that you have to click back instead of use ur thumb on ur browser.

G5 ftw: Fast, change sensitivity on the move (good for sniping - useless imo for everythign else), and only one thumb button - but the wheel tilts to the left and right... so thats + two buttons on the 518.  I have cockpit view and TS mapped to the tilt function on the wheel currently, and chace front/parachute mapped to the thumb... it works out great.

High end mouses are only at their true potential when coupled with a good mouse pad.  Stay away from plastic - they wear.  I had a Ratpadz GS for a year and it wore down hard.  It was a lot smoother then my current Icemat but the Icemat is glass - this baby isnt ever gonna wear down.  I'll trade a little smoothness for lifetime durability.

Also, Teflon feet are a must... they add hardcore smoothness and protect your mouse feet from wear.

Newegg was having a deal on the g5, check if its still there.  I say get the g5, icemat and some teflon feet - I've found the "eels" from xtrac to be the best.  All can be had on newegg for <75 shipped.

Personally, I am for the Logitech MX1000 all the way. The thumb buttons are well placed, as is the wheel and the leather-y feeling rubber soft spots. It just feels like an extension of my hand playing BF2.

I just purchased the mx518, its got a great feel , my only complaint is that the 2 side buttons seem to be giving me problems with mapping it too a key, of course I haven't bothered to read the instructions but I've never had too before   , gets an error {the logitech program} & crashes.
I can still use the mouse afterwards but the side buttons dont do anything then.

I have an Mx518. It's an upgrade from the mouse I got for free when I bought my PC.

I have a MX 700 cordless, didn't know anything about DPI when i got it so not sure it stacks up to other mice. It works tho

i use an MX1000.. i just got it a few days ago..

before that i used a cheap £5 optical mouse..

being honest.. the £5 POS was better for BF2..

but now i'm getting used to the MX1000 (and having to use a hard mousepad) and it works like a charm..

yeah its wireless.. and if the signal gets interrupted (very rarely happens) then i use the touchpad (custom built gaming laptops for the win ! ^_^)
