Surprising to see somebody mention Neurosis. Definitely a hard band to get into, but rewarding if you have the patience. If you haven't heard them, I'd recommend you check out bands like Jesu, Red Sparowes, and Pelican. Meh, I really liked it but thats just one of my favs I like pretty much every album except Black (even though I have it ). I am sticking by my original decision of At The Gates, jjust because they basically set down the roadmap for melodic/thrash metal. But, a certain band called Trivium has come to my attention recently. If you haven'theard of Trivium, please, check them out. Do it for the kid's sakes. Trivium - Ascendancy, is the best metal album of 2005.
