Hmm, have you tested TS actually works? My friend is unable to talk on TS in Vista.

Also, in BF2, he can't use his caps lock key.

Yes I have used it.  It was a bit weird sounding but I got it to work just fine.  I had to dig around for the mic boost but its burried in the control panel somewhere.

Installed last night via Daemon.  Didn't have any NON RW DVD's lying about.

Works great.  ATI's Beta 32bit Driver Locked up the System.
The 32/64 Bit Driver Installer went all the way through and gave Catalyst Capability.
But each time I installed something else, Vista would drop my Gamma Corrections.

Will be trying Vent and BF2 on the system.  Tried SetPoint for Logitech G5 and it won't work, even under Windows XP (Service Pack 2) Compatibility checked.

I love how they ripped that off from Server 2003.

I think all cd writing apps are broken in Vista.

No its the virtual dirves that don't work in vista.  But since both Alcohol and Daemon Tools install that first they won't install at all.  Keep the apps coming I will update the list tonight.

What is the serial key to use when installing it?

You need to register with MS to get that, the plus side of which is that you can use the key on 10 computers. Plus if you're so inclined you can go to the same link over and over theoretically giving you unlimited keys.

Here comes another useless fact!  Do you guys know where they got x86 from for 32Bit chips?  It came from the very first 32Bit chip made by Intel.  They were 386, 486, and 586(AKA Penitum 1).

Edit:  Did'nt see the link for the x86 thing.

Guys I need some programs to add to the list.  If you have Vista try and test as many as you can or if you don't give me a list so I can.

Question.  I can verify that BF2 works.

But the game has visual artifacts and is just about as dark as the bottom of a well at midnight.

How did you correct this problem?

I could play the game but the graphics were all hammed up.

Did you run it under WinXP SP2 Compatibility or in Native Vista?

Do you have a NEW DirectX Beta for Vista?

Any help or suggestions?

Register at the website and get one.  They're just handing them out.

As for the artifacts I could not tell you.  I did not encounter then when running the game.  But, yea trying running it under WinXP SP2.  Tell me what you get and i'll edit the post.  Also are you running it on the 32-Bit or 64-Bit version?

Use the 32bit cause the 64bit won't install the patches so no online play.

I've heard that this whole Vista thing is just a gigantic headache, and its not worth it at all. Anyone want to confirm or deny this?

And the fact if we dont' nail as many problems now, we will just have to deal with them later with the acual release.

Daemon Tools 3.33 and older works fine with Vista.
