While some of you out there choose to hate EA, let us pause for a second to remember the many good games they've bought to us over the years.

Command and Conquer series
FIFA football series
EA sports in general
Need for Speed series
All those James Bond games on Console
Battelefield series
Sims series

Point is that while the new patch is rather bad, EAis still a great company and I for one am tired of the EA hating on these and other boards.

i saw the video for bf2142 and its exactly the same as bf2 except it has new "skins" and "models" for the kits and vehicles. they just want to money whore bf2 to the max. ea sux :p

its still in Alpha tho, so it will change alot

I would like to come in here and put a hammer to ignorance in.

EA DID NOT MAKE THESE GAMES.

They published them. The publisher doesn't write the book. The author and editor to. The publisher puts a backing and a cover to it.

Dice brought us BF2, Westwood brought C&C and other devlopers brought us other games. Just like Sierra brought us tribes, and Epic brought us UT. Not VU and Activision, the publishers (respectively).

I'm still trying to figure out what everyone's beef with BF2 is. Here is a widely popular stats server and communtiy gatherer we're posting to and I keep hering all this EA is crap talk. I don't get it.

It's a game. One of a first of its kind integrating team play in ways never tried before and doing a fairly good job at it. On top of that the game is beautiful to look at and addictive as hell to play. On top of that on top of, the game is continually updated, patched, and added to in ways few games have been by the original corporate sponsor.

Yes it has its problems like any massive piece of international interactive software is going to have. But will someone please explain to me how EA has totally "f'd up"...I'm just not buying it. Seems to me, some people need to step back and look at this piece of entertainment for what it is...a game, not a life.

Now if we want to name bad gaming experiences, I'm pretty sure we can come up with titles 100 times worse than BF2. Does anyone remember the fiasco that was Daikatana?

EA has and will continue to have my support in the form of my dollars and participation to game and communtity so long as they continue to create brilliant works like BF2. You are right, though, EA is taking a lot of heat; but I believe it is undo.

truly i never have had problems with the game i never saw the glitches. i dont fly so no prob with j-10.EF sucked but who cares. guns are perfect im happy.

This is a good point. Unfortunately, the big name that is well known is the publisher. And for that big name recognition comes the good and bad acclaim. Still, I don't think Dice and/or EA has done anything wrong with this game.

Where else can you call for and get vehicle drops, control so many different types of vehicles, and have command of the awe inspiring artillary barage? I mean, really, what is so bad about the game? I'm of the mind that the growing ranked server list says that the game is pretty good. But what do us noobs know anyway?

What's bad about the game?

Glitches that Dice doesn't address.
Everytime a patch is announced, we hope those glitches are being addressed, but all we find is a feature that allows us to be killed by falling cars that are more used for offense then actual transport.

Failed promises.
How many times has Dice "Addressed the Red-Tag bug?"
Atleast 5, and I still see it today. It's a server problem from players rapidly switching teams when they connect to a server. I see it and I can recreate it as an admin. It's a server glitch that can be fixed.

The only thing EA has done wrong is pressure Dice because they want money. What dice has done wrong? Not man-up and tell EA that they actually want to finish a patch.

Not only has EA tried to make many patches to fix many of the issues we are still dealing with. Key word "tried", they are still fkin up on the same stuff they promised to fix in the previous patches, such as what Defiance said. I get the Red-Bug dealeo at least 2 a day, not including my game shutting down at least 2 times, and getting a message saying "There is a problem with your connection" everyday.

While i admit some things about bf2 annoy me i agree that EA fronted the money etc to make bf2 an excellent game. Before bf2 i only played single player games and assuming i played through the game a few times probably got 40 - 100 hours gameplay max. The fact that I'm still playing this game after 415 hours is staggering to me and proof of what a fantastic game it is.

EA didn't make the games but they do control a vast majority of what is done with them. It's EA's m.o. to push a game or any of it's related expansions out of the door before proper work is done on them. They also have a really friggin bad habit of snatching up games or the creating studio (Westwood anyone?) and royally trashing a pontentially great game. If any of you played Motor City Online or Earth and Beyond, you would know what I mean. Both killed before their prime and both were great fun.
I don't like EA as a company. They are out to make money while investing as little as possible. That's great business practice, but it sucks for the end users most of the time. I honestly don't think they have high regard for patches or fixes in games. V1.3 should be proof of that enough. It's horrible with all of the bugs, problems and other nefarious things. BF2142 will be the focus for now and I bet we'll see fewer and fewer fixes while more glitches are introduced because of half-ass attempts. Put some more cash into the game and I bet it would improve, but that's not the EA way.

EA GAMES!! Screwing everything.
