What's so special about titles anyway?

Well I have decided that I need an upgrade to this piece of junk, so I'm here to ask for some advice.  What is the best upgrade to get for me at this point?  I have 1 GB of RAM right now, and a 128 mb Radeon 9800 Pro (the card overheats a lot and displays artifacts every once in a while).  Do I get another Gig of RAM or do I spend $240 on this new card here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814102570

Or should I get the card and 500 MB of RAM?  I really don't want to spend any more than $300, because I need to save up for a PCI-E system.  OR do I skip this upgrade so I can buy the new computer sooner?  I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

what kind of ram does your MB support? if it supports a decent memory, get a gig of it, and save the rest of your money for a new setup that will be able to run the ram you have now. Granted, it may not be the best memory the new computer can support, but you are not completly wasting money on the ram.

I run 2 gig of pc3200 and it works great for me. I honestly think you would get more performance gain for your dollar with more memory, and save the rest of your money for a new rig.

Plus, if you buy that card and then do get a new comp.. you could be stuck with a card that wont work in your new comp.

I'm pretty sure I have pc3200, but I'm not sure.  I looked to see how many slots for RAM I have (3) and I noticed that one of the slots sits on the motherboard at an angle... never seen that before.  However, i think my 9800 Pro is on its death bed, I'm getting very odd artifacts, like a huge black box when I bring up the ironsights and lots of little white dots on weapons.  These don't occur too often, but are somewhat annoying.  I have also had my display go completely black when playing, but the computer seems to be running fine.  Maybe I will find a new card with a lower price tag and get that gig of RAM.

To me this is a no brainer.  Video card.  Your card is holding you back.  BIG time.  A while back I had a similar system with the same card, and same amount of RAM, slapped in an 850XT, and it was like night and day...
