Meh, start over or give up then. I did say you needed basic knowledge of modifying bf2 before attempting this.

I dont know, I always leave in the knife and pistol, and im not sure but I think you cant edit the unlock bit. I had the same problem while trying to load up that bot owner kit you saw earlier, then I gave the Mec medic the chinese medic kit and for some reason it just worked, I dont know if this is true, but it happend to me. I would suggest making simple changes first such as changing the rifle for another rifle, and each time changing one more weapon, that way you will know for sure what it was that made you crash to desktop (rather than just edit everything before trying)

Well now I could get it to work wiht weapons, but then I tried to change armies. It can't be now about weapons because when it was about weapons it CTD when it was 14 %, but now I can get to "Loading complete. Verifying client data." and then it crashe, so I think it's about my init.con

I have that "run Objects\Kits\Special.con" in the right place.
That happend to me once, all I can say is work it out for yourself like I did. All I can think of is how messed up your army strings are...

Yeah, modding, especially with this game, is trail and error.
The only tip I can give (it's already stated) is that you change 1 thing then run the game and see that it works, then change another thing...

Firstly Hello all

This piece of coding u are trying will not work unless u go change the item index of the weapon. When u have two weopons in the same items index the game will crash while loading. For example u have the gbrif_l96a1 with an item index of 3 and the sasrif_fn2000 wich also has an item index of 3. Therefore your game crashes. U have to customly go change the item indexes so that none of your items has the same item index in the same kit.

Yo,I got this working the first time,great explanations,princess...

I inserted the M82 into my custom karkand map and tweaked your tweak file a bit,I gave the rifle more damage(now it like the M95 and the barrels blow up with the first shot) and inserted a line so that you keep the scopeview if you keep the button pressed(it's somewhere in the M95.tweak).

But I wasn't able to give it another scope,I copied the zoom levels and the zoom from the M95.tweak over to the M82 but it didn't work,it doesn't crash but it hasn't changed either...

I'll think I'll try some other stuff tonight,just step by step modifying Karkand,next thing after new colored water will be the little bird on Karkand...but that'S a lot of spawnpoint editing if I wanna keep the tankspawns...

I did that but if you get in the co-seat when a bot is driving one, it CTD's

Hi,it's me again,the übernoob
I tried to vehicle drop the apache(because I can't find the vehicle file for the new helis),I added the run /objects/vehicles/xpak_vehicles/xpak_apache/xpak_apache.con string into the StaticObjects.con and changed the vehicle drop to xpak_apache in the init.con.....but it crashes to desktop when I try to drop it ingame...

What did I forget?The apache already is in the Objects_client.zip and Object_server.zip

btw,the keep scope when button pressed thingy is just one line of code: ObjectTemplate.fire.busyUntilButtonRelease 1

Mine also crashed

It only worked when I droped tanks etc. Still wanna try droping jets but dont see what good that will do. I thin the vehicle drop is most efective with vehicles, tanks etc.

It's in the tweak file of the weapon. (Change it with notepad.)

Example line:

That's the line for the M24, as you can see it has an index of 3.

If you want to do vehicle-spawns get good ol' BF2 Editor. (It's at EA's website.)

EDIT- I wonder what Karkand would look like with 10 helis on each side...

I guess lol, I have never done that though, I am far too lazy. If you do manage to make a "custom spawn point" let us know so we can add extra vehicles to Karkey too!

To unzip: Right click and hit Extract All.
