I dont really know what the normal temp is for a computer to run at is, but mine is running at this:

https://img173.imageshack.us/img173/259/untitled16og.png

I think its quite high (otherwise why would the flame be there lol)

Thats when my pc's idle, you can imagine what happens when I play bf2, I play everything on low.. because if I put it any higher, my pc just hangs up, my tft screen gives me the: No signal, error

And I have to restart to get it working again, and then when I start playing bf again, it crashes again.

It doesnt happen all the time, but it happens way to often for me (getting pissed now)

Already removed the sidepanel from my pc, ive got a standard HP pavilion pc, with more memory (puts me on 1024 mb total) and a radeon 9800 pro 128 mb..

What can I do to get the temp down, or isnt it the temprature that lets my pc crash??

Plz help!! Im so desperate!!

is it a p4 or an AMD? Are those # under load or when idleing. When i still had my p4 northwood i got temps of max 60°C when under load, and it is still running happyly in my dads office.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

uhh ... thats seems way too hot. first you should clean out all dirt from your pc. you could add some case fans if possible for better airflow. you might want to reseat your hsf (and maybe get a bigger one)

but then all your readings seem way off. all voltages are way wrong. Are any readings offset?

that's the temperature that my p4 was idling at - i made a thread about in here somewhere. its definitely too hot for idling - with mine it meant that games were unplayable, as whenever the cpu was doing anything more than idling the temps rise into the 80c-90c range and the p4 thermal throttle would kick in, slowing the system doen to unmanagable levels.

the only advice i have for you is to remount your heatsink with some arctic silver thermal paste (rather than generic goo) - get a shop to do this if you don't know how (not knowing how to apply it can lead to the same/wrose problems with heat management).

Or, if you have some money, get a decent third party cooler as well, and then mount that with the a.s.

also, yeah, get a good case with lotsa case fans and good airflow...

good luck

edit - i just saw that comment above about voltages being off, and as I know nothing about voltages, everything i said could be irrelevant...   final advice: take it to a shop and get a professional to test it, thn you'll know exactly what the issue is

hey, i just also noticed that there is no RPM reading for your fans! well, that could be a bit of problem unto itself

What's so special about titles anyway?

suspicious.... I have a 9800 pro also, and it seems to overheat frequently, but luckily my computer has burst in flames yet.  when it does I will get a computer with PCI-E!!! Finally!!!

I was having similar problems with my 3.0 P4...I put a Zalman CPU ($50) fan on it and I have to total of 9  fans now all blowing at something.  One of the fans is an exhauster that blows directly on my video card and northbridge.  I do have to keep my AC on 75F to keep my processor from going over 120F when playing BF2.  A HD fan helped with the incase ambient temps also.  If that doesn't work I blow a fan on the entire case and that cools it off 10F in the matter if minutes.

seems a bit too high... yeah put a 3rd party heatsink on it... nothing fancy but sumthing like a cheap zalman or a scynth ninja. if u want to go for the best of the best, get a tuniq tower 120

!!!!!!!!! go and check those readings in bios. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a feeling that speedfan reads your sensors wrong or has some huge offset. The only thing that seems right is the HD temp. All voltages/fans setting (0 RPM's: that is defenetely wrong) and temp reading (wtf? -1 on nothbridge and some other sensor).

Maybe your sensor is broken. Check the temps in a different way if possible (do you have a thermometer?),
also the HSF should be coldish when you touch it and not flaming hot (check with your hand)

I'm guessing that sentence should have had the word "not" somewhere.

I had an overheating problem as well, I have a SLI system. . . and the HIGH internal tempature was causing graphical glitches & game lockups. . .

It simply was not being cooled properly. . . I had a choice to go high tech or low tech.  Instead of buying a liquid cooling system - I went super low tech. I bought a small quiet high speed fan at the sharper image and placed it behind the computer adjusted the direction to point directly at the air-in hole at the back of the comp. The air-flow out of the top out-hole was very warm. The tempature dropped 30 degrees F (=16.7 C) and no more glitches or lockups. . .
