And I hope TS doesn't lag out my system too much,I'm glad I can run it on medium/high with my shitty GF6600gt 128MB AGP...

But besides that and the 1.3/AF-CTD/gamefreeze/servercrash-issue(which will definitely mess up some fun) I'm really looking forward to this...

all in, wow this is gettin popular lol!

I just came off the insomnia mash server and there was about 5 of us all in there by chance and we went around at pwnage, twas fun lol... if anyones got any ideas etc then tell me and we'll see what we can do, maybe a tag of some sort?! i dunno

I will also try to organise some comps between ourselves like sat night but different types like longest shot on a still target or something, i dunno lol

Maybe organise regular sniper whoring sessions?... Stack a server and snipe the sin from all the nubs

No TS for me though, it lags BF2 up for some reason.

a tag would be a really good idea... i cant be arsed to quote but EntertaineR_06 said it first

i think we need somethin like that before another sniper competition. [GDC]SinnFein suggested something like that when the sniper competition idea was in its early phase, said something about special maps designed for sniper battles and stuff..

i want to play!

If you could get any coders together I'd glady submit alot of idea's to them, i've written a fair bit down.. You never know it could be the home of ultimate sniping battles.

Interesting question.  I'm not entirely sure that snipers cut themselves off from everyone (though have someone spraying away with a PKM next to your hide can be quite annoying), but instead share an extreme enjoyment of the hunt.

Personally, I think snipers should congregate themselves in a squad for game matches!  The same should be said for plane and chopper pilots, and all armor!  Imagine how easy would it to be for the commander if squads were divided like, for example, this:

Alpha:  Infantry squad.
Bravo:  Armor squad (all engineers of course).
Charlie:  Plane and chopper squad.
Delta?:  Sniper squad.
Echo:  Infantry squad.

In an ideal, hypothetical game, I can see the commander doing this:

Commander:  "Alpha squad, take the main entrance.  You have some moderate infantry movement there, but there is also some armor nearby that I'll have Bravo engage."
Alpha Leader:  "Affirmative.  I see some infantry in the construction building now.  Is there a nearby sniper to provide some cover fire while my squad is out in the open."
Commander:  "Affirmative, there is one Delta unit nearby.  I'll inform that unit."
Alpha Leader:  "Thanks."
Commander:  "Bravo squad, Alpha squad is taking the main entrance, but there is some armor south of them, moving their direction.  Defend against the armor so that Alpha can take the CP.  I'll have Charlie give some air support before you engage."
Bravo Leader:  "Affirmative, enroute now."
Commander:  "Delta squad leader, you have a squad member near the Main Entrance, can you relay to that unit to take out any enemy infantry in, or near, the construction building for Alpha squad?  I also see that you're near the Docks, so I'm gonna send Echo squad there to take that flag.  Provide some cover fire when they get there."
Delta Leader:  "Affirmative."
Commander:  "Echo squad, don't go to Main Entrance.  Instead, take the Docks.  I'll drop some arty to soften them up for you before you get there, so don't go in until it clears."
Echo Leader:  "Affirmative, enroute.  There is also an enemy sniper near the smoke stacks that's been causing my medic some grief."
Commander:  "Copy that.  I'll have a nearby Delta unit take care of that."
Echo Leader:  "Thanks."
Commander:  "Charlie squad, I need you to give some air support for Bravo squad.  They're about to engage some armor south of the Main Entrance.  I'll point them out for you.  Also, send the chopper to the Docks as support for Echo Squad."
Charlie Leader:  "Affirmative."
Commander: "Delta leader, there's an enemy sniper near the smoke stacks.  Have your nearby unit take care of it."
Delta Leader:  "Copy that."
Charlie Leader:  "Guys in fighters, we need to offer air support for Bravo squad against some enemy armor to the south of the Main Entrance.  The chopper needs to be enroute to the docks to support Echo Squad."
Delta Leader:  "Hey, whoever's near the Main Entrance, Alpha Squad needs some cover fire against some enemy infantry in, or near, the construction building.  Also, whoever is near the smoke stacks, there's an enemy sniper that needs to be taken care of."
First Delta Unit:  "I'm near Main Entrance.  I'm already engaging and spotting out enemy units, including some armor to the south.  Alpha's taking the flag now."
Second Delta Unit:  "I see the enemy sniper near the smoke stacks, he's actually on the nearby building.  I'll take him out."

Far fetched?  Don't know, but I once played with a commander who could've probably done the hypothetical situation above, if the squads had be more organized.

As to the TS idea already done, I imagine it's more like a "Dream Team" concept to terrorize the Battlefield community.
