"Ultrahigh" video settings

Hey, sup

After installing 1.3, I'm no longer able to change the video settings to ultra high.

in order to have these settings one must edit the "video.cfg" or whatever filename it has inside the Battlefield2 documents folder. I changed that. honestly. also, I changed the default video.cfg

guess what ?
when entering the game its *always* on high and not ultra high.
when I quit and go to the bf2 doc directory to check the video.cfg, I see that its back to "3" under the details amount.

what's up with that ?

yes there is :

goto my documents/battlefield2/profiles/default [or any other you use], and open the "video.con".
delete all the text, and copy this baby :

It makes absolutely NO difference at all from 3 to 4. It was retarded that it was even an option. On top of all things my Xfi is no longer recognized as an Xfi and is now only recognized as "hardware"

and small things like in the flowers gets more detail in videosetings 4

No that was cause you probs had your resolution set too 1280x720 that seems to make thing look better.

also you shou try you graphics card option themselfs have lots of setting to manualy turn up wich make the game look awsome

1280x1024 as it fits my syncmaster 960bf best and the graphics is a bit more blurry now when i cant get ultra
anyway as long you got 100 fps all time you can turn up settings

I dint know what you guys complaining about ultra -high settings are smoking, but it make hella difference! I have a ATI 9550 with all settings on medium w/ no AA of text filtering. I play at a gaming lounge in Dallas sometimes with bad ass machines, and settings are on ultra-high, what a difference. It's all in the details.

amazingly enough.. I use Xfi myself. You acdcidently loaded the game once under "Entertainment Mode". While in that mode the Eax engine isnt recognized since its not needed, hence, you dont see the Xfi.

Make sure you run on "Game Mode", and change it back to Xfi/Ultrahigh.

to the guys that say it is no difference i really don't know what to say ma-by they need better video-card.
As i see it the biggest drawback with 1.3 is just that you cant get ultrahigh now it is like in a fog all softened up ;-)
