ok i just went in and fixed the worst of it, meaning it is now on the old drivers instead of just the VGA default one
and plus i have no clue how to take a screenshot of my computer because i never bothered to learn
now there is just like thos black dots behind my mouse pointer whenever it crosses a light color
also, when i try to play the least raphically intense game i have i.e. Soldat
it says that the drivers i have do not support Directx 8.0
and bf1942 or bf2 will not run
so, what are the drivers for ATI that are the latest for XP

I tried to find the drivers for my brothers laptop with 200 express card, its a cluster f***! I guess I just don't understand the home page setup for ATI's driver section? What is it not doing? Errors... etc be specific. Like Captain above stated can you take a screen shot of the issue?

What is your haedware setup? Mobo \ processor? Have you tried safemode to run error test? If you are running XP restore to a week ago.

Go to the Accessories folder, under System Tools and run Restore. At least you can roll back to a day or two ago.
I mean intel, amd, ? how old is your system, calm down, you'll figure it out.

Did u even look on Ati's site?????.......... i had the same problem with my old comp... when i reverted back to old drivers (unknown reason lol)

PS- if u just want the driver, not the pointless ati control center go to low speed connection and download the driver display only (1st one)

I'd take it in to someone who knows what they are doing, have them fix it, pay the $50 & learn from your mistakes.

I don't believe installing all of them was what you wanted, two of those drivers contradict the other and one is a management driver.... confusing.

do what he said. so a system restore. that should clear it up. is your comp store bought (meaning you didnt build it yourself)? probably is. if all esle fails do a factory restore. system restore should do the trick though. unless you had it disabled.

If you have been using ATI's catalyst control center you have to run the catalyst unistall software from ATI's website first.  As far as being hard to find and navigate, ATI uses a unified driver and finding the drivers for your Win XP comp and 9700 pro is easy.  Its the same driver for any ATI product you may have except for a few high end cards like the 1900xt for example.  Use the link Unclean009 left you but remember to uninstall your old drivers first.

ok thanks for all the help guys
i'll try what flossmore said and then go hit the sack
as for King_Vegeta.
i'm sure i seem funny, wallowing in the throes of helplessness and hopelessness, but if it were'nt for all of the nice people on these formus i'd be even more technically challenged than i am today.  no, i don't sit at my computer all day and fiddle with .txt documents and make l33t programs, because that isn't what i do.  i like the outside.  You should probably learn about people before u start steroetyping and criticizing...

OHHHH that blows turn it on, takes up space but comes in handy. uninstall the other drivers and reinstall the original "roll back" drivers, your only hope with limited resources unfortunately.
Not
Great success!

Well, best wishes bud. I'd offer more advice but what's been suggested here so far should fix it for you, I'll keep an eye on the thread if the other suggestions don't fix the issue for you.
