*LSD wears off"
Was playing bf2:sf the other day (duh), and decided upon a 24/7 Warlord, where I promptly joined the Insurgents (gotta love the RPG). We only had Television Station, and that round turned into a damn movie! It was numbing how much it closely modeled a believable movie (except for it was the 'bad' guys that were outnumberd). We had snipers on the roof (with M95) who mainly spotted enemy vehicles for our AT guys positioned mid-level (where the flag itself is). Bottom floor was medics, support gunners, and me (the lone SpeOp). I periodically dashed to the mounted MG in front of the whole bldg, where I machingunned those stupid enough to charge Fortress Warlord on foot. We had 2 PKM'ers and a G36E on the right stairwell, and the entire bottom floor was straight gas (our team permanently had gas masks on), and the back door was claymored hotter than the Hotel @ Karkand. (Plus with more gas -- you cannot see a single thing, even w/ a mask.) The ground in front of the bldg was littered with unclearable AT mines, so the APC's/ Abrams were held in check. The biggest problem was the Raiders that zipped in, but those unfortunate souls were atomized by direct RPG fire.
It was *tear* breathtaking to walk into that, almost as if you'd stepped into an Resistance bunker a la WW2. Players scurrying about with machine guns, the occasional PIKEEEEEW! (sp?) of an M95 striking its mark. Man...I almost wanted to have godmode on so i could sit and watch the movame (game + movie) unfold.
As will all good war movies, the outnumbered/gunned guys win. We succeed in throwing the SAS back via mainly our snipers, G36C (me), and 1 or 3 RPG's. The snipers zipped aross to the bldgs where they pushed the infantry farther back, and the RPG's grappled up the bldg caddycorner to the TV flag. This way, 3 or 4 players pushed our flanks out and to the side, so we almost made the "British Line", for any military buffs out there. I personally zipped across to Insurgent hideout roof, where I camped that SAS-held flag, denying the SAS of any chance to mobilized their technicals to MG our exposed troops. A few *noobish* types grabbed RPGs & Raiders and sped to the SAS uncap, where they TEMPORARILY camped it to discourage an armored counterassault.
TV station became less active, so, with a few extra claymore's by the back door and C4 on the front, 3/4 of the armed insurgents poured forth from the shattered bldg, and soon recaptured Plaza and Ins. Hideout. With a blitzkrieg of Ak101 & PKM firestorm, the Insurgents soon overwhelmed and vanquished the stunned SAS, claiming a 13-0 victory.
**All of this is true. Honestly, I sat stunned in my chair several minutes after, dazed at what I had just experiences.***
PS. Please, no -1 "Stupid story, pointless post" crap. If you must do something about my karma, +1 me
