I must double that! F16 didn't do anything and everyone was talking BS about him after he had given much nice information, of course he's gonna be kinda pissed.

some people like to use that big ol' number pad on the right of the keyboard... i think you'll find the 1 is conveniently placed beside the dirty great 0 at the bottom

Everyone knows that 302Sqn doesnt exist as an F16 Squadron, so why cry?

Lets go back to topic before we start a war on this forum about nothing.

This all relates to the ridiculous "reverse thrust" that these jets have.  None of them are built to go in reverse and for Pete's sake if they were, it would NOT work in the air.
I don't know about "built to go in reverse" but I've definitely seen DC-9s use their thrust reversers to back themselves out of spots at Detroit Metro.

But cruise missles last forever... although I wonder how long a sidewinder will go for, I believe that's what's used in BF2.

so all you pilots, how do you keep track of the enemy plane while dogfighting in bf2? one slightly off turn, and they're out of your field of vision, but it seems that the good pilots can always find me before i can find them.

and i don't want to hear something about spotting, that can't be it all the time.

Remo: yes many jets do have thrust reversers but deploying them at cruising speed would rip them from the airframe. At high speeds they have speed brakes which will slow you down but not stall you in a dive.

It's way easier than you think.  Just go to your local municpal airport, not the big international one, they're all in too big a hurry out there.  Once you get there just walk into any flying club and say "I have lots of money,  but no pilot's license"  You'll be in there in no time.

But seriously, it is a little expensive to get your basic private pilot's license for flying you and your friends around, but anyone can do it, so go for it!

Let me know how it goes
Yeah i was thinking it was something along the lines of that. I know quite a few airfields around my area. I guess it's something i'll pursue after University, when i have the money and whatnot.

So, F16_Agressor, if your still hangin' around these forums. How d'you end up being a jet pilot for the air force? Did you already have a license before you joined?

The dogfighting in BF2 isnt any realistic, in real combat, its like this: locked first is dead.
It all depends who is seen first (by radar)

But in bf2, if im following someone i wont let em go. The trick is, follow the trails the plane leaves.

My dad worked for 36 years for the airforce (not as pilot) and i was coming there often, and i loved flying machines.

No, i didnt got any flying license. When you join the Airforce (fighter pilot) you get a very long training in flight simulators, then you go to the USA were the training extends in real planes.
And when joining the Airforce as a fighter pilot, you sign a contract for 12 years.
