^nr said 'secretary of defense' lol. low priority takeaway but still, hasn't trump been whining about news not going along with his renames? dusty old fart energy in gulf of america, "it oughta be," department of war, "back in the day."

he belongs in a cheap nursing home.

it's bewildering how people think any of this is defensible. told ice is only going after non-american criminals, and when it's proven this isn't the case on like the daily, with video evidence, they still defend, deflect. i wonder if they will when ice drags one of their old white neighbors out onto the lawn to summarily execute. "you're exaggerating," am i? rewind to the 90s when your side was decrying waco, ruby ridge. mouths fully around texas' nether regions when they spitball secession. where's that anti-fed spirit now?

"ice acted under biden and obama too." cool, now let's talk about marines being sent to an american city.

"she drove into-" i've seen the video, todd.

trump threatening his own allies to secure greenland is so odd. genuinely deluded behaviour. what's the geopolitical play, here? america needs it to protect itself against ... russian ICBMs? to secure rare-earth metals? a new northern sea route for shipping? but trump is closer to putin than most EU technocrats. where's the imminent and credible threat, here?

also, pushing out canada to form new trade deals with china. what a gigantic self-own.

and why shouldn't the EU also move closer to china? let's face it, america is a fading power. it played its hand and gave away the game to china in the era of neoliberal offshoring and financialised phoneyism. it would be in the EU's best interests to hitch its wagon to the continual rise of the new 21st century superpower.

it's not as if the west can stick together against china anymore on broad ideological grounds. post-trump america has almost zero ideological affinity with ordoliberal europe. may as well just go fucking work with the chinese.

it's nonsense. how is china going to project itself onto the other side of the planet to occupy greenland? russia can't even secure ukraine. while he's right that the arctic will become More Important, all he really had to do was ask to have more military presence on greenland, and base space would have been granted. ask, and more joint exercises. unhealthy obsession with painting the map.

aren't they being rather quiet about the 'drug boats' now? trump comes right out and says it's about the oil. when was the last time his administration tried to hide anything other than the epstein files he said he'd release? openly villainous.

i saw a post on social media advertising for americans to move to slovenia to fill needed job slots. lol.

i guess they're less worried about china directly making claims upon greenland than the alternative world order of which they're a part (russia in the north, iran in the middle east, etc.). but, yes, even then it's a pretty shaky rationale, considering how much territorial tetchiness there is even between russia-china (over manchuria and the far east, for e.g.).

i don't think the drug boats ever had any point. venezuela isn't even a big player in the drug trafficking trade or large narco operations. they had to basically concoct some fake cartel before accusing maduro of being a part of it. very strange.

We are going to have our very own Munich Conference over Greenland.

I think ultimately the "Europeans" will blink. They won't risk their economies by sanctioning us or dumping our bonds. They won't blow up NATO over this. NATO will exist on paper like the CSTO.

american arrogance and bellicosity over this question is just making you more isolated and more and more irrelevant.

only an empire in its death throes starts sticking up its long-term allies over things like this.

I am aware how ridiculous it sounds.

I hope the invasion of Greenland, actual military invasion, happens. Crashing the American economy will be the quickest way to limit the ability of Trump to terrorize Americans. We need a genuine economic crisis.

it is genuinely weird to see people roided up on MAGA rhetoric – assuming they're not the usual roll-call of russian bot farms, that is – delight in talking about the prospects of kinetic contact between denmark and the USA, or laughing at the prospects of france defending NATO's interests, and so on. just how fucking far down the rabbithole have these chimps been led that they think intimidating european alllies, or canada, is a wise path for america to take? these are meant to be the peers who SHARE your values against the OTHER guys, dingbats. just the coarsest sort of jingoism and vulgar displays of power.

europe has been the most compliant ally that the hawkish american establishment could have hoped for. the entire continent is dotted with american bases and assets. our intelligence agencies share everything with you. driving them into the arms of china sounds like a greaaaaat idea.

In a way "Europe" is being punished for having too close of a relationship with the U.S. NATO and the EU aren't without criticism. There were plenty of times where both organizations cosigned our bombing of innocent people in enemy countries. Denmark sent soldiers into Iraq...imperial boomerang.

i don't get how anyone can listen to the guy and think "this is a man with his head on straight." he just called 'windmills' 'losers' in a speech insulting both europe and china multiple times, while demanding greenland, again (but he "wants europe to succeed!"). he has enough wars on the backburner i think that he can afford to make peace with 'windmills.'

i don't get a break from listening to his shit. there's a guy at work who goes nuts if there's no background noise, so on comes the 6am radio news. then i get a text from someone showing some asinine thing trump said or did. then i come home and it's all over social media. i'm a donald trump expert now. i've listened to a lot of his speeches. i know more than anybody about his speeches. it's true! it's true. *slouches to the side*

he went to switzerland, a country famously neutral during the world conflicts, and the german-speaking part of switzerland, furthermore, and invoked ww2 to say "if it wasn't for us, you'd all be speaking german right now". not the brightest bulb.

in fact, in most of his rants about greenland, he repeatedly confuses greenland the place with iceland the place. and he keeps ranting at the perceived slight from the PM of norway for not awarding him the nobel peace prize. the norwegian government has nothing to do with greenland nor the nobel prize committee.

classic american chauvinism. red alert had a better grip on history ffs.

this is who the country shoved into power. twice.

and why would they be speaking german in that old saw? why not russian?

Are Trump's zionist overlords instructing him to create the American Technate?

Its looking suspiciously like they are

Obviously I would be in favour, bad luck for Canadia and Greenland.
Edit: and Venezuela obviously.

I think we can blame them for about half of what Trump does, and whoever the next Democrat is.

I thought Trump and Putin got along.

the only time article 5 of the NATO treaty has ever been invoked was ... after 9/11.

trump whining that europeans are taking a free ride on america's largesse is obscene. thousands of europeans died to pay for CIA blowback.

i'm out of patience for this type. have been for a long time. "i didn't think he'd actually try and do this stuff!" i don't particularly enjoy being right and getting to rub it in the faces of people who kept telling me "it's just rhetoric" but it's gratifying sometimes to see the betrayal and dawning horror on their faces.

accusing your NATO allies of 'hiding back from the front line' is totally crazy, lol. it's not even "hell yea, trump is our guy, just a real talkin' straight shootin' type!" it's literally slandering your allies over their war dead. the man is a moral vacuum.

apparently we don't have the same goals and values anymore!

that much is evident, anyway. many european countries give a darn about affordable healthcare and reasonable work hours.
