I have a feeling my assistant will probably be a little careful with engaging me with stuff after I berated her when she advocated for prayer in school. "Never talk about politics or religion with coworkers" I don't mind talking politics since it is a hobby and all that. But I guess religion is a hair-trigger.

In all seriousness though I think I gave away the fact that I am an atheist after that conversation. "Holiness and morality in my classrooms?!"

tmz getting shit apparently for laughter and applause in the broadcast about the shooting. this call for taking our hats off and navel-gazing over our "viciousness," and all the jerking off of kirk in death, i don't want to hear it. why do i need to be scrounging for grief i can process for a socially destructive, serial-lying, christian nationalist, conspiracy theorist, etc. etc., who even said people getting shot was an unfortunate sacrifice we have to make for guns? my grief is for the state of the country. why does america need to be a place where people get shot on the regular?

before or not long after kirk bled out, people decided that the shooter wanted christians to abandon their christian values or something stupid like that. already decided that the killer was definitely of some group they can comfortably denigrate. in the aftermath, trump even declared the guy a martyr for the cause.
