BF2S Forums What does bf2s.com look like?

i've been linked an asmongold video or two in my time. my first impression is he doesn't have a whole lot to add irt social commentary? unmemorable stuff. i expect the bulk of it is "huh, ok," or "let's see some chaos" as he stares like tucker carlson.

this isn't true of all game channels. some people have interesting asides when they decide stray from games as a topic. probably not where someone should go if they're looking for it, though.

i think it's fine to feel positive about streamer contributions to society when they get involved in stuff like charity and fundraiser events. i'm not going to begrudge people enjoying their lives playing street fighter or whatever at some convention tournament while a co-commentator interrupts running commentary with news about some random individual's staggering $5k donation to the children's hospital the event is for.

as for most viewer/streamer relationships, very parasocial unless you actually know one another or play regularly together or something. i find the idea of streaming games and having some unfamiliar rando halfway across the world ask me how my weekend was a little discomfiting. it's the end of my day and i'm kicking back with Elder Scrolls. a viewer does a gift, and i have to stop and say, "holy crap thank you for the 8 months," whatever that entails, as a matter of obligation? nty. the whole model and drama potential of being a game streamer with a live chat, discord, moderators, employees… wild stuff.

you can justify any form of activity if you add a charity drive to it, i mean it has little relation to streaming itself other than the fact a lot of companies are printing money presently. stream a dude taking a shit and watch the donations roll in ... he's still taking a shit.

creatives' work is worth more to society, sorry.
