I still like metal bracelets but sizing the links can be a pain. I like automatic watches. I am not sure why.

Just take your watch to a watchmaker and have him remove a few links. Just make sure he gives you back the pins and screws. I have little baby wrists so I have to get links taken out of every watch I get.

It's important to find someone who knows their shit. Go into a watch repair shop and ask him about how often a submariner should be serviced. If he gives a 15 minute autistic lecture on watch repair and how to properly service dive watches to make sure they stay waterproof, he's your guy.

Thank for the offer but I am still building my way up to the TAG and Cartier watches of my dreams. It will be a few years until I feel secure enough to drop that kind of money for even an entry level TAG watch.

I'm getting the most wear out of the Grand Seiko lately, but I wear all my watches pretty regularly, with the exception of the Omega FOIS. I've put in on exactly once but never worn it out. More of a collection piece than a daily driver.

Fossils are for teenagers. Get another Presage in dark blue.

I would like another blue dial with a leather strap. My Tissot has the blue waffle dial but with a bracelet. I love the dark blue/leather look.

not a watch guy - i still wear timex pieces with nylon bands - but the grand seikos are nice when taken with a green/blue/red dial. very classy.

I like that it is automatic. I have the same one in red with a tan band. I also like that is has a few numbers. It makes reading the time easier. I am so used to digital displays that it takes me a moment to read this type of watch.

And I usually don't have the patience to try. I don't like the date part either.

My smartwatch is so amazingly useful by the way. You should try a smart watch Uzique. They don't all look terrible like the Apple watch.

i don't love the typical silver link strap. it's too business-formal for me. it wouldn't work in any casual looks that i wear, in any case.

being obsessed with speakers and hi-fi is for like 50+ year olds. it's a money pit for those dads who aren't allowed to go out and haunt the bars or gig venues anymore. look at any sort of hi-fi shop or listening room space and it will be 95% middle-aged dudes. probably dressed like engineers tbh. they're all, like, chasing THE perfect recreation of their favourite dire straits recording or pink floyd album or whatever. that or they're serious classical/jazz aficionados.

Run ok 2-3 years
Battery replaced, runs six months.
Battery replaced again, craps out quite soon or something else fails - this time I couldn't adjust the time for daylight saving.

After I'd paid for it and the girl had gone off to adjust the strap I noticed another display thing hidden away with cheaper watches which would probably have done the job.
It would have been a bit mean to reverse everything at that point, and I was completely peopled out having picked up a new pair of glasses earlier so I said nothing and took the watch.

Now the waiting game begins

Almost 12 months, wow.
Its steadily developing the expected patina, does this give it character?

I really liked this one. It is automatic. The blue dial is nice. I am just not sure about the strap.

you really don't have to always match the colours like-for-like between your clothes and accessories. that's a little too dogmatic, and in fact can look bad. a little bit of contrast works just as well as going out in a duo-chromatic ultracoordinated look.

'match your shoes and your belt', yada yada, that's all good general advice but it's not holy writ. when people are too well turned out in that way it can look goofy. you can use accessories to add accents and small splashes of colour too!!!!
