No idea from the reading why it started rolling, but it's a good reason to throw on the parking brake and chock your tires when you leave a vehicle like that.
I think you're being kind of unfair and a bit mean-spirited about it even if nobody reads this site. He was doing volunteer work, being a community asset. If you rented a snowplow to clear a grandma's driveway you'd be all over the place here talking about what a kind person you are.

It is interesting that he managed to alienate the Ministry of Defense to the point where they were trying to kill each other. But I guess it is just like any other workplace or interpersonal drama with higher stakes.

A lot of people upset about that didn't even know the tree existed until it was cut down. I ain't never heard of the tree.
It's probably something more people were familiar with by sight than knew by name, which is fine. Also, being upset at the defacement of or environs around world heritage sites you've not thought of until they were destroyed is also fine.
Despite the bad juju probably being nearly enough, the internet tough guys were out and about baying for wildly disproportionate punishments involving graphic violence and prison terms that would make USA blanch. Kid could have chainsawed someone's legs off and less people would have felt personally insulted.

I almost died today. Seriously.
I almost choked to death on a piece of steak at a Texas Roadhouse. A fucking Texas theme restaurant nearly killed me.
I didn't chew the piece NY Strip too well. It got stuck going down. I tried to drink something to bring it down but it wouldn't go down either. I eventually managed to cough up the steak.
My girlfriend said my eyes went watery and started to bulge. I also started to turn red which is significant since I am brown and that isn't something that really happens to us.
