i mean, mike tyson has said some funny things, but i'm not going to base standards of civic discourse on a street thug who solved all his problems with his fists. i don't think verbal altercations should escalate to physical violence. especially outside of the boxing ring. punching someone who has 'disrespected' you might be the way of life on the streets; but it's also a shortcut to long terms in prison. a single punch can kill or seriously maim someone. do you want to give someone brain damage because they said a mean word? ehm, no. this is stupid.

i'm fine with laws existing against forms of verbal harassment or common assault. let there be punishments and commonsense restrictions on 'free speech'. let hate speech be decried and ostracised. raising hands every time someone makes you angry or frustrated? no.

IIRC he was thankful his mother died because then he could go get in street fights without being babied. Then I guess he cried about her later? I dunno, concussions are weird.

He had a funny cartoon though, and people are cool with the ear biting thing now. That makes it ok.

i actually don't hate mike tyson. i think his character arc has some positives. i am not going to dunk on a guy with his biography. but it's definitely not a model worthy of emulation. violence is never the answer blah blah blah.

I think he recovered from disgrace more successfully than other fallen actors and athletes. But I'm not onboard with Tyson memes, and don't have patience for people who fully buy into that remodel. I'll take his advice when it comes to how to throw a punch, though not who to throw a punch at.

Her family caught in the social crossfire, and herself pushed into practically a hermit lifestyle. Conversely, a big deal was made of his race and the unfairness of his trial. Erm, thats literally 2-4 years ago, making uziq 26-28, not an angsty teen. And its not as if he didn't know these were actual people with the normal sort of problems people have, and some specific ones they'd shared here.

Bottom line - uziq is a narcissist bordering on sociopath, probably well past the border actually.

The clincher was the whole Itaewon thing wasn't an emotional event for him, it was a "My god, that could have been ME!" moment, his focus was on how it would affect his lifestyle, and he was back to partying within two weeks.

I don't see much point pressing him on the crush. Being in the vicinity of it would have probably made some Bond villains uncomfortable.
