I think this is the last time Republicans let abortion go to vote in their states. NYT said based on their updates predictions, 4 out of 5 states would protect abortion rights if it went to vote.

Both a surprising and not surprising outcome. Not surprising since it turns out that bottling up the sexual revolution isn't something people want to do when given the choice. Surprising since I expected there to be a lot more voters who are weird about sex and want to limit abortion.

Surprisingly I haven't heard that angle yet from conservative friendos. One belabored the horror of 9mo abortions, easy counter asking how relevant it is to earlier stage and lifesaving abortions. Even he acknowledged (actually brought up) that it was stupid that we have no push for maternal leave from "pro-lifers." I could have gone off on a huge cynical tangent, but places to go, things to do.
