Lots of blacks?

https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10 … 3118773959

Why is the black homicide rate 6.2x the white rate?

most black-on-black murders don't take place in the deep south, dilbert.

from the literal title of the journal article you just plucked from the ether at random:

US Metropolitan Areas

you really need to get better at this 'i'll cite something academic to bolster my views' thing. it's not quite a research degree, mate.

from the study's own introductory paragraphs:

In particular, we provide an empirical example where black and white homicide rates are related to another variable (location in the South) in opposite directions such that no overall correlation or regression analysis could effectively represent both of them.

The south does have metro areas, amazingly.

the study literally says the opposite of what you think it says, which is just funny.

maybe read the introduction next time before you cite some random academics from a field with which you know nothing.

very poor research skills. the reason the murder-per-capita in the South is so high is not 'because blacks'.

"Cop drives with one hand at excess speed in the rain, ends up killing a pedestrian."

Good Lord. You could do everything in life right and still get taken out by a cop driving fast

Well heck, maybe more cops will buy Nazi paraphernalia and loudly joke about dead Jews …

No, your comment only answers the question "does Finray understand why people say 'ACAB'?"

The answer is no, btw.

Just another example of shit tier leftist marketing. It's not true, see above, and only serves to muddy the waters, without solving the actual problem.
But it's way more catchy than "There are bad people in the police that are being protected by other bad people in the police and the system is set up in such a way that the good people in the police force are powerless to bring about any actual change"

"Good people" working in fundamentally corrupt conditions still work towards corrupt ends. You could flush out every single police officer in this country and bring in new blood, and the cycle would still continue. Changes need to be made to constitutional obligations, training, culture, and transparency, against much resistance.

Further, telling people to disarm when the police have no binding duty to save you even when they're around is problematic. So easy for pro-gun to exploit.

The Texas shooting...turns out the door was never locked to the classroom where the shooter was. The cops just never tried the door. I knew this was the case when I first heard the story. School doors are key only. The shooter wouldn't know what keys to use.

So much in the way of conflicting accounts, clamming up, and squirreling away of information are involved in this whole Uvalde thing. Not a whole lot would surprise me at this point.

Most people are found to be wanting when it comes to it, blowhards especially.

I guess the police aren't special 'wolf-dogs' guarding the 'sheeple' after all, when in fact they're more keen to taser and pepper-spray unarmed parents than face the 'bad-guy' they've supposedly been training hard and itching to take on their whole lives.

If I lived somewhere where the police had no duty to do anything they didn't much feel like doing and were as likely as not to arrest or shoot you and some bystanders as do their job I would certainly want guns for my own defence.

Study after study has shown that owning a gun makes you much more likely to be a victim of gun violence than protect you. A lot of guys who buy guns for protection later use it on themselves or their loved ones. Much more common than somebody stopping a home invasion.

The police in this country discredited themselves through the drug war. Marijuana is legal in my state but I still can't help but to see cops as pig people who will ruin your life over a dime bag.

Study after study shows I've owned guns for a long time and haven't shot anybody.

But if anybody looks at me funny.....

Officer husband of slain Uvalde teacher was detained, had gun taken away after trying to save wife
Texas DPS director said Eva Mireles told her husband she ‘had been shot and was dying’

yikes

Well, detainment is not the worst thing that has happened to a good guy with a gun (shot by police is up there).

I don't actually know for sure since I don't really care that much about Texas law. It's always interesting though, trying to predict whose side the courts will take when these sorts of things are blue-on-blue.

Its another example of the Police thinking they can do whatever they like.

I thought the whole point of owning guns was you could use them to defend yourself and your family, seems a bit redundant of the police can just disarm and detain you on a whim. Doesn't really matter if you're an officer, its worse really - try to do your job - get arrested.

Just didn't want him intruding on the volatile situation of them munching on donuts outside or something. Too bad Hollis isn't around for one of his paid breakdowns of the event.
