Pretty likely that if there were a bat-flu outbreak in my neighbourhood people would behave themselves, not go to cafes and hold parties, so the police wouldn't need to send patrols and if they did they've have nothing to do, most people would be pleased to see police patrolling - its only lawbreakers who feel persecuted when they see police.

Meanwhile the ethnics are moaning about racism having probably never even been to Bondi.

People here are well-behaved, hence we don't have any outbreaks, so its somewhat a circular argument.
According to a Police guy I know my state has issued a grand total of five infringement notices since this began.

As a side note, it seems restrictions in my state have relaxed to the point where some businesses will say you don't need a mask inside if you're fully vaccinated. There are no card checks, so that is easy to lie about. Still no thermal checks, so you can also lie about not being sick.

I was in an office store the other day with these loosened restrictions. Most of the employees still had masks. Those giant plastic shields were still at checkout. However, the plastic shield does not go behind the card reader (which people will stand behind to use and have direct cough-to-worker access. This is the case for pretty much everywhere I've seen those plastic shields. el oh el.

With all the new variants popping up it's hard to see when and if there's going to be an end in sight with this pandemic nightmare.

The pandemic is over. Reopen everything. People without shots in the U.S. at this point are conscientious objectors. If they get sick it is on them.

Once my state relaxed the mask mandate for vaccinated people, usage sure seemed to drastically plummet, even if it's still encouraged. I know I'm fully vaccinated, but when I walk into the store and see nary a mask in sight, I do wonder exactly how many are truly in that same boat.

The next problem here is returned citizens can home isolate if they have a vaccine certificate.

So indians will be coming in with fake certificates and 'isolating' in a house with ten other people.

Meanwhile two weeks into a lockdown people won't stop holding large gatherings.

That they can't be trusted to be honest or behave themselves is the bigger problem.

France is mandating vaccination. Can't enter public places without a certificate, healthcare employees who won't get vaccinated will no longer be employed or paid after september 15th.

Nutjob & conspiracy idiots all over are having a collective meltdown. They're likening vaccination to the david stars and are predicting an imminent repeat of the holocaust, also calls for a 'new french revolution'. It's encroyable.

A Western Australian man has been jailed for at least two months for booking tradespeople to work on his house while he was supposed to be quarantining after returning from interstate.

The 53-year-old man arrived in Perth from Brisbane on 27 June. He was ordered to quarantine for 14 days and said he would quarantine at his home in Scarborough.

In addition to tradespeople, the man also invited members of the public to his home to buy items he had been selling on an online platform.

I don't know the ethnic dynamics of Australia in comparison to the U.S. There were stories in our news bemoaning police going into the hood to break up basketball games in spring 2020. I don't know how to feel about that. On the one hand, if you don't go into the hood and instead leave them to their own devices, the places would be perpetual COVID hotspots. On the other hand, there were a lot suburban pig people who needed to be told to suck it up and wear your damn mask.
