The video I got the picture from included an interview with the man. Face mask are "dehumanizing satanic rituals." And he called the N-word an "atomic bomb word" or something. Basically a word to get people's attention.

i can hardly care about 'controversial' fashion choices, i mean a man wearing a skirt or a sarong isn't going to change the world for me in any single way at all, but, yes, it does rather point to what a movable feast fashion is. 'norms' and 'gender-appropriate clothing' is as mutable as just about anything.

Nothing you've said is new information to me. What was surprising is that it is someone's crusade at this point in time. If it's hard enough for society to accept trans or non-binary people on the whole, this approach seems tailor-made to run headlong into the sensibilities of conservatives as ammo in a culture war.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion, but you are partly right only in that I am curious about it because it is something I don't know a lot about from personal experience. No, I'm not like the right-wing nightmare of someone learning about trans issues and seemingly going down that road because it's trendy. I'm perfectly comfortable with my own being, but that is why I'm interested to learn more about those who aren't. I'm glad you made some modicum of improvement towards accepting more people, I guess.

There's a niche push to get the term "crossdressing" made obsolete, but I think it will still be relevant as long as male fashion trends differ from female. It's related to trans stuff I think because dressing up can be a big part of someone's effort to "pass" in part so the macbeths restroom defenders of the world won't notice and will leave them alone, letting them have a normal day.

I would think the mark of having moved past our existing schemas is when it no longer needs to be justified. I think it was on one article of schoolboys somewhere not being allowed to wear shorts so they took to wearing skirts instead that there was a bunch of dudes commenting how kilts are comfortable in various circumstances. I've never worn one, so I can't speak to any of the tradeoffs, though.

You're also not wrong in that if no one cared about such things, trans people of all types would likely have less problems in their interpersonal interactions.

I assume dating a trans woman is like dating a mermaid.
