Meanwhile the top minds of Breitbart have it all figured out

Where's New Jersey's rainy day fund? You have the second or third highest taxes in the country and your state still has tens of billions in unfunded liabilities.SuperJail Warden wrote:
Assuming the Chinese did steal everything (???), what's wrong with the federal government producing things like school bus COVID modification kits, facemask for children returning to schools, classroom modification supplies, etc. Why do schools need to cut programs instead of getting money from the federal government who had time to come up with $3 trillion for corporations but none for schools?Jay wrote:
Ok. And again and again I will point out that it takes time to produce stuff, especially when Chinese buyers scooped up everything off the shelves and shipped it back home right before the pandemic hit us. It's not normal to need a billion masks overnight. And as for schools, they always claim poverty. They'll do what they always do, cut sports and after school programs and beg for more tax increases to pay your superintendent another 50k/yr.SuperJail Warden wrote:
You don't need to have the SS in the streets forcing people inside their homes to have had a better response than Trump provided. Again and again I will point out that there should have been absolutely no shortages of medical equipment and PPE in our country. Schools shouldn't be scrambling to find money in the budget to modify schools to be COVID safe. These are all easy things to do. Trump just doesn't care to actually do any of it.
This is whataboutism. The federal government is the only one with the resources to provide all of that stuff with complete ease compared to our wars and other stuff we have been up to lately. Producing and distributing that stuff would in fact help bring the economy back too. The problem is once again, Trump. Does. Not. Care.Jay wrote:

Not really about Trump in this case. You could say that Mitch McConnell refuses to bail out blue state governments, and that would indeed be true. You could say the conservative establishment is also against bailing out poorly run state governments who were overly generous to their public sector union workers, and were on the point of collapse before the COVID stuff, and that would also be true.SuperJail Warden wrote:

Trump is leader of the Republican party. It would be his job to rally his party to do what is in the best interest of the country. There is no way you can explain away his dereliction of duty.Jay wrote:

I got fucked over when the tax cuts came and my SALT deductions were capped. It wasn't fair then, and their excuse was they wanted to put pressure on states that tax too much to lower their tax burden. Why would I expect any different now? You aren't their constituent. The teachers don't vote Republican. Why would the Republicans bail out the teachers union or the state workers unions? That's like asking me to expect Pelosi or Schumer to bail out oil companies. If you weren't so highly partisan politically, maybe you could expect bipartisan support.SuperJail Warden wrote:

Oh okay. It's my fault Republicans hate our states and don't want to help.Jay wrote:

Trump gets daily tests. His staff are tested regularly. Any body that comes in to contact with him is surely tested prior to interaction. I'm willing to bet the press close to him are also tested regularly.uziq wrote:
herman cain posted some tweet about holding a rally and not being forced to wear a mask. 'people are sick of it!'
herman cain now has covid-19. i presume he'll want top-notch medical care from frontline hospital staff who are exhausted and running ragged because of people like him.
rescuing this post for posterity. one of jay’s all-time classics. who knows? indeed.Jay wrote:
Frankly, I have no idea what Trump has done and I don't expect to ever get a real answer. Everything you and I get is filtered through a media that hates the guys guts and has every reason to make him look bad. The guy might have been trying his ass off in private. Who knows?
My taxes went down, just not as much as if I lived elsewhere. My taxes are high because of wastes of space like you.SuperJail Warden wrote:
Imagine the Stockholm syndrome required to defend a president and party that raised your taxes to punish your state. Trump has done worse than nothing for Jay. He actually knowingly and purposefully hurt him. Yet still Jay defends him throughout the thread and elsewhere.
Cuck.
