Cutting in line is rude and inconvenient for people behind you at worst.

You're right that it's probably not worth starting an argument over, but that's barely changed regardless of who's cutting in front of you. If you're not being an obnoxious, racist Karen on camera you probably don't have much to fear by way of internet repercussions. Though personally, even if I'm the picture of chill in such an encounter, I'd rather avoid being put up onto someone's twitter or facebook page at all, let alone being captured at a *ugh* walmart.

Speaking of which, Walmart doesn't exactly lack a reputation for obnoxious shoppers. Go to Home Depot or something next time. I've never had someone intentionally cut the line at a hardware store.

the protests are not over at all. huge numbers of people are still coming out every day to protest.

this is the EXACT wrong take on the issue. the 'explosive' riots and looting took place on the first few days, when anger simmered over. since then, it has been mostly organized protest and continued remonstrations.

In New Jersey, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal has announced the state will soon require police to be licensed, a change that goes along with his earlier promise that the state’s Police Training Commission will “reinvigorate” and “revamp” the training recruits are receiving.

But there’s one change academics and some police reformers have been suggesting for years that just hasn’t gained traction: requiring cops to have a college degree.

“There is research that does talk about how higher-educated officers have fewer citizen complaints against them, they perform better at the academy, they have fewer disciplinary actions against them and, low and behold, they are also less likely to use deadly force,” said Manish Madan, associate professor of criminal justice at Stockton University.
