That Utley call was blown soooo badly. How do you call the guy safe because the fielder didn't touch the bag when...the runner didn't touch the bag either? One of the reasons the phantom foot swipe during a double play has been historically not called is because everyone playing realizes it's a part of baseball, just like the takeout slide. If you're going to adjust one side of the rule, you have to adjust the other side too.

The umps have been fucking up in the playoffs for some time now. It's probably been 4-5 years straight where calls are being missed/blown.

At least the mets won't have their MVP: The Mets' umpire. Some of those calls were utter bullshit. Granted, our players weren't doing much hitting-wise, but it still is irritating seeing the umpire having obvious bias towards the mets.

well the jets originally played in shea, and the giants originally played in yankee stadium (and i want to say the polo grounds, but i could be wrong about that). the mets were created to fill the void in NYC's national league history created by the departure of the new york (baseball) giants and the brooklyn dodgers, hence why the colors are orange and blue (also, conveniently, the colors of the flag of new york city)
