Well wait, lets start over. What's your budget on a new machine, and what do you need? (as opposed to what you can harvest from the old one, e.g. DVD drive, hard drive, etc. Keep in mind you MAY need to reinstall/rebuild your OS on your HD so I hope you have some place to transfer off your files while you do that, like an external HD or a friends spare).

My guess is you'll need a mobo, ram, and CPU (duh). You have the PSU. You may need a new HD and possibly Windows OS (unless you have the key from your current version). Are you sure you need a video card? That one looks fine for a mid-range computer.

Yeah that card will be fine and if you want to upgrade it later you can. And since you have HD's and OS keys, it sounds like you just need CPU, Mobo, RAM.

Budget?

To be honest I think you should put that money towards your mobo/cpu/ram and just use your current card. Then whenever you have the money, just buy a nice new card for $100-$200 or whatever your budget allows.

If you buy budget pieces for your mobo/cpu/ram, you won't be able to utilize your nice video card since those other three things will be a major bottleneck.

but if you insist

I would like to go with this board and ram , with a decent intel dual core CPU ( price around $50 - $100) what CPU would go best with that mobo and RAM that I listed below and what do you guys think about that mobo and ram choice ?

Doubt you'll get a "decent" Haswell CPU that cheap tbh, more like double it.
Although you could look look at the i3 4330, 40, 50 series they about they price range I believe.
I would also say try and get 8g of ram, which you could get for only about $25 more.

It's cheaper... if that's what you want. The i3 will better handle your ram and video card and make gaming better. If you want a slightly worse gaming experience but more money, go with that last one.

What is your total budget? Newegg has some decent refurbished HP computers for around the 350.00 mark. I picked up one for my wife earlier this year and it does great for every day use and light gaming.

It doesn't have to be a Haswell if you choose a different motherboard, the one you picked is a 1150 socket so it has to be a an 1150 processor. Just make sure the numbers match.

The stuff pirana picked looks pretty good to me (maybe stretch to one of 4130 or 50's CPU if you can afford it).

I think the only part i needed to replace was the CPU, which I could have bought a replacement Intel E6550 for 20 bucks.

I bought all this stuff I didnt need because i thought the mobo was the problem.

If the mobo led light comes on and there are no broken/leaky capacitors, does that mean the mobo is alright ?
