You guys use any cool mods for NV? I thought I might re-install this one and toss in a pile of new stuff too.
Project Nevada is good, New Vegas Bounties I and II adds a decent system to it. Weapon Mods Extended, Electro City MMUE adds in good environmental and weather effects. Wasteland Flora Overhaul gives the mojave either more vegetation to give the game some more depth. (Although the rain stutters for me, but that might be a problem on my end.)
Replaying it right now with those mods, they really do add something else to the game.

Yeah, I'm using about 80 mods.
I'm mainly using bug fix mods and ones that reinstate cut/removed original stuff.
A few graphical/texture mods and a several that expand the immersion, e.g. by adding a use for misc. world items.
The most important ones:
Mission Mojave
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45104/?
New Vegas Uncut (series):
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/users/301 … &pUp=1
Essential Visual Enhancements:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42666/?
Interior Lightning Overhaul:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35794/?
Fellout:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34888/?
Active Wasteland:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/37804/?
Misc Item Icons:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34737/?
I'll post a full list in the evening.
Furthermore, on my second play-through I plan on using J.E.Sawyer's mod.
http://diogenes-lamp.info/jsawyer_fnv_mod.zip
He's one of the main developers and made a mod that rebalances the game towards a more difficult, old-school RPG.
Also a lot of fixes for oversights and missed stuff.
The reason I haven't used it yet, is that it reduces carrying weight to a rather low value, and I'm a notorious looter and explorer, and this limitation would have annoyed me.

Argh. I got a pile of mods but the game refuses to start with the majority of them. Are you using Nexus mod manager? Also, do you have the game installed from steam or from disc?
Most of the time its the load order, what mods are you using?

Yes, I'm using Nexus Mod Manager (NVMM).
Also, several mods need the New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) to run at all.
Finally, use BOSS to sort your load orders.
With NMM, you can directly download most mods from the New Vegas Nexus.
And even the ones with manual installation option only, can be loaded into NMM after downloading the ZIP file and installed automatically.
Tip:
Should you update a mod with NMM, do not delete the old version outright, but only deactivate it.
That way, if it doesn't work, you can easily switch back, without needing to download.

Shitballs. Ultimate edition is only $5, and the price alone makes me tempted to buy it, though I didn't especially care for it the first time when I got to play it and I don't have nearly as much time to sink into it working full-time, especially a 100+ hour game like this. I should probably put this in First World Problems, actually.
For $5, I certainly did it. I might come back to it one day and I didn't have any DLC that wasn't torrented so this works out great.
FNV gets better over time, if you try to have an open mind. It has a better main quest and better writing than Fallout 3, thats for sure.
I didn't like the main quest as much. The ending battle didn't seem all that glorious like it was supposed to.
Actual game play elements were much better. Iron sights, weapon mods, ammunition, actual uses for survival skills.

In Fallout 3 you had a purpose and accomplished something. In NV you are just a war. Meh
NV is the better game still.
NV is the better game still.
That's what I felt as well.Macbeth wrote:

That is, what the main story line made me feel.
Shortly before the final battle I realized that I was just the errand boy for all the other scheming parties.
War never changes...Macbeth wrote:

In NV, I decided that every last Legion member I come across will be wiped off the face of the earth.
I played the main story line very slowly, doing all the side missions along the way and then finishing all 4 DLCs first, before doing the main story finale.
That way for me, the game played much better with all its small scale, localized missions, not getting distracted by some glorified goal at the horizon (that eventually turns out less glorious).
Comparable with the literary Odysseus and his years long journey with many different occurrences and quests.
Most definitely.Macbeth wrote:

IMO, FO:NV is the actual sequel to FO2.
The Capital Wasteland FO3 is the real spin-off here, with a rather different setting (still anarchy, destruction and chaos hundreds of years after the war) and barely any direct connections, be it in the game or in background stories, to the FO1/FO2 lore on the West Coast.
Any news on FO4? Heard it's going to be in Boston and centered around MIT or something.
Yep, the Bethesda devs were spotted going around Boston a few months back by someone, and "The Institute" was where that android from FO3 came from. All bets are on Boston.
I hope the new protagonist is going to be Bahstahn Street Tough like Mark Whalberg.

It was slightly better in NV.
