Nah, there's also kittens.
And videos that look like porn from the freeze frame screenshot, but turn out boring.

Skream is quitting dubstep.  Though I'm interested to see what he does with disco and funk.  Maybe the new Daft Punk album is starting a disco revival...

he made that announcement like 6 months ago on twitter - there were lots of interviews in the uk music press at the time, e.g. fact mag. and if his last few performances in london are anything to go by, it's going to be terrible. and no, his announcement came a long time before the daft punk album. also there have been many huge disco cross-over hits in the 'dance world', quite apart from daft punk's vegas lounge music cheese. skream was probably inspired to get into disco from the boiler room / london set starting to play a lot of it as 'set warm-up' material, i.e. instrumental/feelgood 120-125bpm stuff. it's been very common to hear disco/nu-disco/italo at the start of clubnights here, as something to get people in a good mood, and to loosen up the limbs. skream i think is pretty sick of the EDM/dubstep thing, and is trying to regain some cool credibility on his home turf by 'taking it back to disco'. again though, he announced this on twitter like 6+ months ago. and this is not a new thing.

fyi this was one of the most recognizable and infectious tunes last year:

i like how this is now the thread where uzique can focus on telling people what things are cool and what is not.

where did i mention what is 'cool' and 'what is not'? you are a fucking dolt. i'm not sure why that 'omg skream has quit dubstep' news only hit american-centric EDM blogs this week. he was talking about it on twitter 6 months ago, and frequently on his radio 1 show. his SXSW dj set was mostly all disco/house music ffs - no dubstep. and that was months ago, on american soil. i was just correcting his facts. there is no new 'turn to disco' inspired by daft punk. (nu) disco has been influential on dancefloors all along - especially if you consider massive dancefloor hits like last year's todd terje tracks.

i never mentioned what is "cool". personally i don't even like the disco revival stuff. i don't buy it, listen to it, or spin it myself. no mention of "cool".

Good, but not as good as Skrillex's new stuff.

i don't even know what that sounds like. i remember he put up some tracks that sounded like a 14yo imitating burial. very uk-garage/2-step inspired stuff, complete with dumb female vocal snippets and "ominous" vinyl-crackle/rain-splatter. i remember everyone calling him out for just copying burial straight-up. but then again originality has never been skrillex's strongpoint.

i always get confused if americans still think they're 'trolling' by referencing skrillex, as if anyone outside of the states gives a shit about skrillex. i am not gonna get inflamed that you mention his name in a dubstep thread. american EDM is an amusing circus side-show.

following up that daft punk point, i want to say that this album - put out recently by the r&s records staple - is infinitely better than daft punk.

more imaginative, just as organic, just as much high-concept and lyricism. it's a cracker.

and all made by one guy with about a 1/4 of their combined age/experience.
