big things from planet mu this month
nice to see this finally get a release
imagining this at a club like berghain, on a fully tooled and pristine system. would be the sort of thing morphosis would play
Is daftpunk too mainstream for this thread? I like their music and their channel is my preferred Pandora station. Their new single sounded nice. Happy to see another album.
they have nothing to do with dubstep/drum'n'bass, but whatever. i think the new album is going to suck. all of their press releases are totally in the wrong vein. it's just an average disco record, purposefully mining the 'organic' nostalgia of the 1970's. it has a bunch of featured guests on it that should not be near a dance record, let alone one trying to be credible and market itself as 'the saviour of real music in the age of EDM dirge'. some of those guests are julian casablancas from the strokes and pharrell williams. forgive me whilst i go and puke.
It would behoove many of you to get in on Sam KDC. Like his buddy ASC, they've got the Midas Touch.

i hope you realize all of those producers are just sub rosa species of dBridge and the early instra:mental stuff. they pretty much pioneered bringing UK DnB down to 135/130bpm and making it more 'experimental'. ASC is a great producer but most of his early development and style was pretty transparently based on the labels it came from: exit and nonplus (i.e. the labels of dBridge and boddika, who is one half of instra:mental).
(the best song ever done in that 130bpm period, imo)
UK sooooooo far ahead.

C'mon, I'm not that un-hip to not know all that. But I dunno, never really could get as into dBridge & Instra:mental as I can with ASC, Sam KDC, etc.

one of the original founders of dubstep, and definitely one of the leading patron-figures throughout... comes out with this. so effortlessly meshing so many contemporary influences together. kode9 + hyperdub = instant mark of quality. when those mean synths come in half-way through... damn.

& the latest karenn joint
i have now done 100 broadcasts on my mixlr in the 18 months or so that i have used it. that's a hella lot of broadcasts.

if anyone cares to log-in using their twitter/facebook/soundcloud or email (i.e. create an account), and 'follow' me, it would be very much appreciated. it'll make it easier for you to be notified when i'm broadcasting, and then you can more easily leave abusive comments in the shoutbox when i inevitably trainwreck a mix into horrible, rookyish oblivion (i often broadcast brand new, previously unheard stuff, so this happens way too often).
