Yeah.  But the recoil is less and than means better follow up shots.
on a bolt action?

1) Could the bullpup configuration of the M95 mean a weaker overall weapon, thus explaining the inability for the M95 to kill with one body shot?

2) The M82A1 is a semi-automatic rifle? What? That is ludicrous.
Remember Battlefield 2 is a game. If you got shot with a 50 cal round, you would be down on the ground. 50 cal shots have been known to kill people in one shot to appendages.

US Snipers typically act as intel, they don't shoot many rounds but they make each one count. They typically shoot to create disorganization, and hit targets of interest, they are more of a support element, providing intel on the target ahead and supporting a larger attacking force. Most of a sniper's job is not shooting though, its sitting and waiting, and watching. And the snipers role changes depending on the enviroment, an urban enviroment is much different from a jungle enviroment.

and the m95 and m82 both have really good recoil for 50 cal guns, barrett knows how to make them right.

My only complaint about the games version of the M95 is that the damage isn't anything like the real thing, since I've put a hole completely through an M113A2 as well as knocked out 4 cinder blocks from a wall, and yes the recoil from shooting more than than twice would most likely dislocate someone's shoulder.
Regardless I still prefer the M24 since it's shot report is similar to everything else on a battlefield, where as the Barrett's sound like a good size thunder clap, it's also alot easier to carry and manhandle while in the field.
I'd also like to see better sights as far as the game is concerned, but that's just me.

Your thinking of the M82A1 vs M95/M90

As for why they chose the M95 over the M83A1 is that in general bolt actions are more accurate than semi-autos.

The M82 is actually in the game, at least in theory.  Check your BF2 weapon files .  You'll find it on the bottom (Im at school, can't give the directory now, but if someone knows what Im talking about please let others know how to view it, thanks in advance).

There are two types of M95's the semi auto and the bolt action the semi auto has the loading in front of the trigger and the bolt action has the loading in the back.
The version in BF2 is the bolt action one.

There you go let the 14 year old answer all your questions.
Nope.

M95 is bullpup layout and Bolt-action
M82 is conventional layout and Semi-auto

This has been covered several times now.

Its not a version of the M82 at all - they are different rifles.

That rifle has nothing to do with the M95 or M82.

1) A bullpup configuration does not make a rifle weaker.  It allows the gun to be more compact while keeping the barrel length at a longer length.  This has no bearing on the damage or stopping power of the M95's round.

2) Why is it ludicrous?  There are a lot of semi-automatic sniper rifles.

Set the record of confirmed kill at 2,430m.. Don't know if that has been passed yet, possibly.
Why in the name of all that is Holy would you try and silence a 12.7mm rifle?  That silencer can't be good for anything after a couple of shots...
I don't think its a silencer honestly. Maybe its a muzzel warmer? Or its an additional flash/smoke suppressor? But I really don't thinkits actually a silencer at least I hope not.
its called a muzzle break i got one on my hunting rifle its so you dont see the flash
