Speaking as a New Zealander, watching you lot moan about your unimpressive medal haul was one of the highlights of 2012. Sports wise at least.

Actually it's more Lord of the Rings than sheep now. Case in point:
"It shows people are sick of the drama in the Labor Government. You know, with all the leadership speculation and whatnot. People don't want to hear about the leadership speculation in Labor with Kevin Rudd tipped to replace Julia Gillard. They want to hear policy. Not about Kevin Rudd. You know, how he's tipped to take over as Labor leader. From Julia Gillard. People are sick of that. They want actual policy and that's what the Coalition is talking about. But no, Labor is too tied up in Kevin Rudd possibly taking over as leader from Julia Gillard. Which is ridiculous, people don't want to hear about Kevin Rudd. And how he is possibly taking over from Julia Gillard. But we as the Coalition aren't focussed on this because people are sick of all the speculation about Kevin Ru-"
STOP. FUCKING. TALKING. ABOUT. IT. THEN.
Christ, the only people that talk about Kevin Rudd more are the voices in Kevin Rudd's head.
Anyway I just want to comment on Jamie Briggs who at the moment personifies my annoyance of the Coalition. He's not alone, I've heard the same from countless other coalition members. After the release of today's Newspoll he made the same Coalition comment which went something like:unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Wales: longbows, silly names and sheep
NZ: Maori, hobbits and sheep
NZ: Maori, hobbits and sheep
Since who was talking about Wales vs. NZ, other than you?Uzique The Lesser wrote:

Well it's about time that Wales found a new stereotype, cause they're losing badly.Uzique The Lesser wrote:

NZ has had the sheep stereotype for ages, the fact that Wales has it as well and had it first doesn't even come into it. Stereotypes can be shared and as others have pointed out the sheep thing is far more relevant to NZ.Uzique The Lesser wrote:

I would have been with you on the deadbeat Maori bikie idea but Maoris can't afford motorbikes.

We've had the stereotype because our early economy was built on sheep. They're perfect for establishing a colony - a source of food, a renewable source of textiles, they're pretty easy to manage (especially in an environment with no natural predators), and if you were one of the early migrants from Australia, they're pleasant company on cold nights
Lots of cows now, heaps more even in the last 10-15 years. Theres more money in milk than there is in milk & wool it seems.

Just when you thought Australia couldn't get any more racist and xenophobic, the Coalition - i.e. the Government in a few months time - recommends that neighbourhoods be notified when asylum seekers move into their area.
What the actual fuck?

my family has a cattle farm, and yeah very good money. unlike sheep however you can't just put them anywhere, and they need an awful lot more investment in general. the moneys more in the breeding/slaughter though, milk is only worthwhile for a *massive* farm if you get a decent contract, or some dairy on the side (like we do) for local sale.BVC wrote:
