It's temperate here. In upstate New York, it's normal to get 6-7 feet of snow every winter. Two years ago we got about three feet here. Last year we got about an inch. The Gulf Stream generally makes our winters much more mild than the surrounding region.Uzique The Lesser wrote:
lol wow so much bile and negativity because i said that's not very much snow. i was under the impression that new york got that much snow almost every winter. aren't you at a pretty northern latitude? it just doesn't seem like a big deal.Jay wrote:
Stop being such a miserable twit, please. Every post you write shits on someone or something. The act is old. No one likes you. You are superior to no one, shifty included.
Ha!
You wouldn't know what temperate was if it kicked you in the face. Here's a little graph of average min/max temperatures to prove my point.
You have higher maximums and much lower minimums.
That's a marine climate. Has nothing to do with whether it's temperate or not.DrunkFace wrote:

New York is technically subtropical, right on the edge.

NY is Sub-tropical?
I live in Brisbane, that's subtropical. Palm trees everywhere and at storms and floods in summer.
In winter it is a pleasant, sunny 22 C every day with no rain for months on end.

Brisbane has a monsoon season?
We don't have a monsoon season as such, but when it rains in summer it is typically much heavier, more violent and often accompanied with lightning, when compared to rain in winter.
Sub-tropical, yeah.Jaekus wrote:

If you look closely, Long Island/NYC is in the green region.

That's right on the cusp. I guess my experience with subtropical climates are much more typical (storms in summer, high humidity; mild, sunny winters). Just did not consider anywhere that gets snowfall to be subtropical.
TIL: Thredbo is sub-tropical.

When someone says "Apparently a mate's mate..." they're talking about themselves right?
