They do contain some of the camp humour, but not as obvious as clichéd one-liners. It's all very macho and masculine and Bond is the perfect spy and womanizer, but Flemming did try and give the character some emotional struggles here and there (which is about on par with the Craig movies, but it never happened with the previous Bonds) but all in all it's a very adventure driven book about the man all women want to be with and all men want to be.
I wouldn't recommend reading the Bond books unless the others are actually better than Casino Royale, but i doubt it.

the music in the movie was done well, interesting to see rza style over these guys as they do their mr badass walk. Spaghetti western obv a huge influence here. Oh, there is even a bruce lee-ish mirror scene fight. Grasshoppa.

I just got done watching all of the Bond movies (Bond 50 on blu ray & in a course of a month).
"Bond 50" a must for a Bond Fan 10/10
My least favorite Bond movie - Tomorrow Never Dies 4 /10 (I find myself comparing the villians to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack, probably because the Woz did all of the work -ZING)
Roger Moore is kinda of stiff but watchable, i dunno

I am all set to watch Skyfall this weekend

After Licence to Kill Bond was pretty much milked dry.
Goldeneye resurrected Bond. Kiwi Director Martin Campbell was behind that.
Die Another Day crippled him.
Casino Royale brought him back again, though differently. Martin Campbell again.

Basically if Bond ever takes a serious misstep again they should just make Martin Campbell make the next one. Even though Green Lantern sucked.

By the way my vote for worst Bond has to go to OHMSS. Everyone in that production seemed to hate each other and it showed. Die Another Day is really bad and at times completely ridiculous but it had some cool action-y bits and kept my attention.
