Think for awhile there it was Burn$ite.
Or as I called him, burn$hite.
Romney handled the debate better than Obama, but did you like what you heard?
Why does PBS need to be defended but the military needs an even bigger budget with Afghanistan and Iraq winding down?

What does Obama offer at this point? He failed to do almost everything he said he would do in 2008. Why still defend the guy? That's the real question.AussieReaper wrote:

Romney sucks, but at least he's not a complete failure.

good thing you don't have a dog in this fight, eh? you can sit on the sidelines and snipe at both candidates.Jay wrote:

I voted for Gore, Kerry and McCain. I've reached my limit. Until one of the major parties can put up a non-douchebag I'll snipe and cast my votes for protest candidates.

That might not happen for a long time. I too have chosen to support neither candidate. If all candidates can do is snipe at each other and talk about inane things, then I want no part of it.

I would love to see a third party candidate get the required votes to get included in the next debate. Neither party represents a majority of opinion, not even close (and I'm not saying he does).

seriously, Gore did win the popular vote, and if not for the warlord in a southern province who happened to be the brother of the other candidate, would have won the electoral vote too.
i like how the the secretary of state for pennsylvania said on tape "enabled voter ID laws to ensure a pennsylvania victory for mitch rmoney - done!"
there was the '96 election where bob dole was trailing so badly that the money dried up and went into the congressional races. it is a proven fact that money wins elections, and in '96 the house went republicant for the first time in decades.
funny what a difference time makes - that republican house and democrat president balanced the budget and returned a surplus. this current house and administration can't.
Balancing the budget doesn't win you elections. Bush changed the playbook. Buy peoples votes with tax rebates and an unaffordable expansion of Medicare and you can have eight years in office even though everyone despises you.

I don't think DADT would have been repealed during a McCain presidency. I also don't see healthcare reform being past. The auto bailout etc.UnkleRukus wrote:

The presidency matters. I don't know why people think it is clever to say it is not
From my perspective, seems like the average person connects more with Obama. What does Mitt Romney represent? A rich old white man. Guess who feel a connection to a rich old white man? Obama seems more like an average person than Romney does.Jay wrote:

Who cares what Obama did or didn't do? Since when does that decide elections? It's just used as a talking point to try to sway voters. "I did this." "He didn't do this." Most people don't care. It's not like voters have some aha moment where they realize, you know what, he said he'd do something and he didn't! Fuck that guy!
Right, but Obama hasn't been noticeably different from the man he replaced. Guantanimo is still active. We're still fighting multiple wars. We're still intervening in the middle east. We still have an outsized military. Gay people are still second class citizens (DOMA is far far far more important than DADT). He blew up the budget with stimulus packages. He installed a healthcare program that isn't going to address any of the things it's designed to. People with pre-existing conditions can now get health insurance. Good job. Everyone elses insurance rates are and will continue to skyrocket. He didn't end the war on drugs, he expanded it. He didn't end illegal surveilance and the PATRIOT act, he expanded it. The guy fucking sucks.
Romney's big problem is that for the past 20 years, people that look like him have been cast as the villain in movies. He reminds everyone of Gordon Gecko. Oh, and it doesn't help that his policies are godfuckingawful too. This election is a total shit sandwich but I honestly don't see how anyone can defend Obama. At all. Say Romney sucks and vote blue, I don't care. Just please, for the love of god, don't cheerlead the piece of shit that's currently in office.
