Is that a Colt SA in the bottom corner as well?
Got my license finally. Registered the Winchester today.
Still a novice at this, no idea what kind of ammo to buy (i don't what companies are considered quality,) It shoots a .30-30. Its got discoloration along the barrel and receiver so I don't know if there's anything I can do about it. It's also a fairly an old weapon, I looked up the serial and it's from 1946.
Gonna upload some pics in a bit.

first thing - buy a cleaning kit, and have someone show you how to clean & oil it.UnkleRukus wrote:

Bought a cleaning kit today, read the manual for the Model 94 and had my dad show me the way to do it. Did the best I could with what I had, although I still might need to bring the thing to a gunsmith. As the Trigger jiggles a bit, and the Lever jiggles a bit too when open. Still, for a gun from 1946 that I got for free, not bad.13urnzz wrote:

Finally being able to post a firearm in this thread, feels good.

Did some research, turns out the M94s have always had a slightly jiggly trigger and lever. Even the ones made 40+ years ago, seems like a lucked out though. A lot of people have issues with the craftsmanship of the newer ones.

I have an interesting little conundrum here.
Back in 1986, my father purchased a Heckler and Koch HK4 off his friend for 400 bucks (he got overcharged by 80 bucks and didnt find out until now lol. Thats not the point though.) From what he says, the transaction was just him giving his buddy 400 bucks and my dad took the gun. No paper work at all. I'm looking to register it now, and to keep the amount of future headaches to a minimum I want to do this right.
My options are, register it as if I had found the weapon while cleaning out a house or something (I/E put no seller into the registration form.)
Contact the authorities to see what I need to do
Contact the original owner and see if there is more to the story.

Do you need to register cars in your state, based solely on possession?Macbeth wrote:

Most places I've been only require it if you use them on public roads.
cars are used on public roads on a daily basisMacbeth wrote:

fees from registration and licensing go towards road repair and maintenance .....the same cannot be said for firearm registration
you know what happens if you park your car and don't register it? NOTHING
you know what happens if you lock away your gun and don't register it? knock knock this is the police
i'm pretty sure we've had this argument before macbeth. if you would like to argue the failings of your point further let me know here http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=145584
