I've never been in any fights that were to beat the living crap out of each other but through the little experience I have (2) I always thought having a long slow object was worse. If you miss with that first swing and the other guy knows what he's doing...

Meh I haven't been in a fight since high school. I am not going around claiming that a weapon gives you an immediate fight advantage though. I would think a nerdy Asian kid would see how dumb it is to make a sweeping generalization about something he never experienced.

Gun owners tend to get defensive about gun control because it is likely to interfere with their hobby.
I am NOT saying gun control is a verboten topic because it is a hobby for many people. That would be a weak argument.
