The FA have recently built a specialist football academy in burton on trent to improve the quality of our footballers.....only took them 150 years....

nah it was setup for the usual reasons, just one aspect of national lottery funding is diverted too sports. Charitable causes benefit too.

What dirty little secret? NBC says it belongs to Eton during every rowing broadcast. I think it's cool they built their own lakes.
edit - oh, that the medalists are all private school kids. Well, it's pretty much the same in every sport here. Only wealthier parents can afford to send their kids to soccer camp, or gymnastics camp or whatever because it's time and money expensive. Podunk public school in Iowa generally doesn't have an indoor Olympic sized swimming pool for kids to train in, ya know?
