BF2S Forums Patch 1.3 Comments?

The things that have struck me the most about this patch so far:

-Server info is buggered
-I miss the 'refresh' button in the server list already (I may have gone blind, but I didn't see it)
-AA missiles can actually hit planes now
-The masses of texture corruption that turns up on my system after prolonged periods of play is gone. Completely.
-Commanders like to use the vehicle drop to block plane and chopper take offs

The elimination of squad hoping ruined the game. I honestly don't know why they would change a year old tactic that had no bugs... for the first time I am questioning EA. I have had no problems before with any patch. Now, this has actually toned down the fun factor of the game. I would have rather had 150 more bugs than this new "feature."

What teamwork? No teamwork has been ruined since people who complained about having the Squad Hopping exploit disabled never had teamwork to begin with.

Since i don't play the game that much the lowering requirements isn't much of a problem for me but i can understand how it could be a real kick in the face if you have spent hours trying to get a reward then EA basically turn round and make it so you could have got it without all that effort

also i've noticed people say their ping has increased? well mine has and is fine, normally about ~20ms, before and after patch

also i dunno if this was just the server i was on but after patching i don't seem to suffer from as much, if any choke now but i have set BF2.exe to AboveNormal priority and i also did the delay punkbuster tip on the bf2 tips thread

Oh, I just wondered, what with the changes to the War College Ribbon, will there be people who had it but no longer meet the criteria?  Are there any people who had it but don't meet the 25,000 command point requirement now?

I can see that some people will have had the 3:1 ratio but 25k command points seems a trifle high, don't you think?

Meaning if you die you cannot leave and join you must spawn then join.

Almost there - you can still leave while you're dead. Ergo, squad rotation is practically unchanged.

And to make everything clear: Dying, then switching squads to spawn in some place is an exploit of the squad system.

Spark, if you die, and leave the squad you cannot rejoin any squad until you spawn on the map. Push the join button all you want but still,nothing til respawn.

Now in the past, if im in a squad and all of my squad mates die except for a team member not being SL, we cannot leave an join the squad to make him the leader, so as to continue our assault.

my game freezes at the spawn select screen (uninstalled and reinstalled twice but that didnt fix it) anybody else have this problem?

they killed the use of all seeing eye with there gamespy protcol update

the vehicle drop thing is cool, Lord knows I get tired of watching my teammates use our rides
as taxis to their jets and kiddies leaving the rest of us standing there without rides... or watching
them drive by you when youre asking for a ride..  HOWEVER... this vehicle drop will be noob-exploited,
already in the first few games since I patched to 1.3 I have seen commanders on 2 differant servers
drop jeeps on enemy jets as they were taking off.. killing the enemy jet..  someone has already labeled
it 'CARTILLERY' on this or another forum..     as always EA/DICE doesnt think about how their changes
will be exploited, they could keep these from coming on airfields with simple code.. but they dont have
a clue..

Of course we are talking about a company that releases a in game player movement change that
stopped bunny hopping and firing because some of their crybaby customers couldnt hit a moving
target and stated that hopping and firing were 'unrealistic'  all the while we have a medic class that
has the ability to revive dead people on the battlefield with defibs and they hop up and run off
fighting again (yeah, thats realistic.. hahahahaha..) 

EA/DICE are the worst publisher/programmer combination that has ever combined on a game
project..simple as that...and their testing, and after purchase support to their customers is ZERO.

And did he really use the TOW/AA like it was meant to be played and not idle in it while playing commander.

You can always quit the game there are many other games out there that might suit your needs.

I will adapt and wait for another patch like always... Every game company is the same.
