Server has been updated to a dev build of 1.2.4. I didn't want the server to have much more down time. I honestly thought they would have a beta build by today...
mojang is one of the worst at planning. why release 1.2.4 when you cant play multi with it

Yes its bukkit. Without Bukkit you can't enjoy an large scale community of players on a single server.(Protections and Services) If you create a regular server without mods its general for you and a friend or two.
