Based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission "Operation Red Wing." Four members of SEAL Team 10, were tasked with the mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader, Admad Shad. Marcus Luttrell was the only member of his team to survive.

I read the book in high school. Pretty amazing story. It happened not even ten miles from where I am.

Hope they do it right. Mark Wahlberg is playing Marcus Luttrell, so we'll see.

One of the SEALs who died (Michael Murphy) was a friend of mine's cousin. When it happened it was pretty much all you heard around town for a few weeks. Really was an incredible story. Hope they make it true to the book and not some Hollywood-ized piece of crap.

Shocking: sorry you feel that way; +333|5991|...

It's a great book but there's a bit too much 'America fuck yeah' in there imo. Also some misinformation and he allegedly inflated the number of enemies by quite a lot.

Nevertheless, amazing story and very well written.
