apple business model: change 2 things from your last model, charge in obscene amount for it, watch as fanyboys wank to it, sit back and rake in the dough.
sigh. oh well.
it's the best tablet you can get. and cheaper than any tablet that can match it spec for spec.
the ipad 3 is also the same price as the outgoing ipad 2. I like how rational your argument is.
no need to get bitter now!
every company (especially tech) has a base of fanboys who love to buy their products and in doing so, tend to pull a vail over their eyes as to the world outside that company.
Spec for spec, sure it's the best. Particularly because it's the newest tablet in existence (unless someone announced a newer one within the hour...) but sure won't be in 6 months (unsurprisingly this is how all technology has worked since the cotton gin).
The price would likely have to stay the same but this is a common business practice (re: Nintendo). A rise in price would be dumb as they didn't do much unexpected or non-compliant with Moore's Law. A fall would be dumb as they would never sell another ipad2.
I understand the price (high though it may be) is for the components but why the damn hardware? You're surfing the web and looking at pictures! Here's an idea, how about DON'T put CAD on there and build massive buildings...
And tbh, adding 4g support is behind the times, especially for apple who is good at being ahead of the tech wave.
