I don't think someone needs more attention after killing themselves with drugs just because they are famous than they would if they were a nobody in the ghetto. Both are tragic... Only one gets RIP threads dedicated to them.

I fully agree.

IMO, it's only a tragedy and RIP-thread-worthy if someone dies without his own fault, e.g. a disease, an accident, murder, etc.
Not counting drunk driving accidents like Ryan Dunn or getting killed because you're in a gang though.

My problem is the number of people that haven't given a shit about her in the last 10 years. Haven't listen to a single one of her songs. Haven't watched a single one of her movies. Whatever. She did whatever she was going to do. You knew OF her, you didn't KNOW her. There is nothing for you to mourn. She is not a BETTER PERSON for being famous and does not deserve MORE RESPECT because she was able to sing better than most people. YOU are not special for listening to her sing a song once back in 1992, and therefore YOU are NOT entitled to grieve her as if you were her close family.
