I didn't think I would ever be interested in something from kel-tec but this one has really sparked my interest .... especially when this thing is 26" over-all

I was never interested in Kel Tec either but I am interest in the ksg, rfb and the pmr.

I like the option to load two different rounds in the ksg and quickly switch between them. I'd probably run some #4 or 00 buck in one and rifled slugs in the other.

Not really up on my Sig Sauer pistols.

Someone give me the short course on what makes the p210 exceptional?

What kind of action is it?  M1911 derivative?
no

Browning derivative essentially.

Its essentially a large frame long slide Browning HP I guess, with quality machining.
From people who have had them they're not all that forgiving, trigger is not perfect and lock time is long, a bit like the S+W M52.

For me it would be handy in .32 or .38, 9mm not so much.

Looking for a good .45 or 9mm soonish.
Was looking at the Sig p220 in .45, or another "old reliable" FN HiPower Mk III.
Accuracy and reliability are paramount - and 'it costs what it costs' to get good equipment.
Browings and CZs are good, I like SAO triggers, otherwise dunno.
I don't see the point of a 1911 given the amount of gunsmithing and attention needed unless you're shooting Bullseye and the only gun allowed is a 1911.
I assume when you say "Browning" you mean BHP, since he designed the HP and the 1911.
My 1911 has been good from the factory, although my M9 broke before the 1,000 round mark. for Beretta.

HK Mark 23. BA date code(2010).

Designated MK23 Mod 0 by SOCOM. Winner of USSOCOM's Offensive Handgun Weapon System (OHWS) program in the 90s.

One of the most thoroughly tested handguns in history. Considered by some, the ultimate 45 ACP handgun.

the .45acp is a big fat lazy american slug.  Now the 7.62x38R nagant, that's a well engineered cartridge.

If I want to buy a well made expensive or boring handgun I can buy from a european or american maker.  they all make what they know will sell.  glock's been making the same fucking gun for 30 years now just like colt's been cranking out 1911s for 100 years.  at this point there are no more "great innovations" left in recoil operated handguns firing conventional ammunition.

bring on the laser pistols and pocket rail guns.

Glock could've taken more than a few lessons in ergonomics from the 100 year old JM Browning designs.

The .45 ACP "big fat lazy american slug" is an excellent round, as long as you stick to 230 grain subsonic ammo.
No transonic accuracy loss, suppresses brilliantly, and it's a big heavy nasty slug that does its job well.

So, an HK Mk23, with a suppressor, launching abovementioned 230gr subsonic (all 230gr .45 ACP ammo is subsonic) = brilliant piece of engineering.

Now, if the grips weren't so brick-like...

I just wondered if the land of Thomas Edison could have found some time in the last century to put some innovation into handgun design.
