I read the top of the box as "solid snake" drive. Must be getting sleepy.
Haha, would be awesome but no. Get some rest, dude.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Finally booted up BF3 on the new SSD and I can play online on high now! Could play high online before, but the game wasn't very smooth but now it's brilliant.
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
um how does an SSD improve game performance? all it improves is map loading times. placebo effect?CapnNismo wrote:

i suppose in some certain areas it can improve through put of loading textures/other data to ramUzique wrote:

prolly not. if you have > 4Gb of RAM i can't see why your hard-drive would be used at all in-game. during map loading the entire map file (<2gb) gets loaded into your RAM. so if you're playing on 8Gb your hard-drive shouldn't be in use at all. why someone would have a £200 SSD and not £50 of RAM...

Aye you're right in saying that the maps are loaded to ram, and an SSD would speed up the process of loading the map to RAM, I was only putting forward a suggestion. There must be something though that an SSD improves in graphical areas though.Uzique wrote:

Does a brand new alternator for my car count as "tech"? If not I got an Xbox 360 wireless receiver for Windows.

I'm really curious about it, too. Then again, it might actually have more to do with the 16GB of RAM in the machine than the SSD that the game runs on. I honestly never tested upping the video settings since going from 4 to 16GB, so it might have more to do with that. The map loading times are certainly much quicker, however. I did read, though, that BF3 works a bit different and that having an SSD does actually improve performance - should I come across the article again I'll post it here.Uzique wrote:

Just got it today, what an absolutely brilliant buy and brilliant bit of kit. Turns my phone in to an amp, so much easier than setting an amp up and dragging headphones from my computer, not to mention that the amp is LOUD if I play it without headphones. Can't bother the neighbours with the iRig. Free app provides pretty much everything I need as an amp.

Ah okay.
Went ahead and bought myself a wireless XBOX 360 controller for my PC - flying jets like a boss now.
Just got this for my wireless headset. Works great.
At first I thought it was a cheap third party knock off. But, apparently its the real deal. However, my computer just BSOD for the first time right after I installed it. Checked the minidump and one of the files was an audio file. Go figure...
Oh you mean this one?RTHKI wrote:

not a bad idea really, my 4gb of ram is starting to be too little. I have a triple channel i7 though so I'd need 3x2gb..
