Uhh, hipsters aren't really a fad uzi... they've gone by dozens of names over the years: hippies, bohemians, etc. artsy people that thumb their nose at the rest of society and get off on chasing fads. the current iteration is different in that instead of trying to form communes (some still do), they get off on mockery and destroying the value of the luxury crap they got used to as spoilt children.
