Never cared much for magic and dual-wield feels slow and buggy...
Bash is pretty great too, if a enemy is using a channel spell (e.g. dragon breathing fire/frost/lightning) you can just bash it and it will stop and recoil for a second...
And if you want to grind bash, just find a friendly NPC, give him/her a punch in the face and then block all their attacks, then when you don't feel like grinding anymore, holster and they will stop
