yanks are really dumb...you ask them to locate any other state then the one they live in on a map and they are clueless. Ask them to point out Iraq or Iran on a map...bet you a $1 they cannot, but yet they claim to be smart.
I'll take that bet. Let's make it a hundred.
Something to consider though. Given the size and geography of the US vs Europe, the average European can make international travel a weekend jaunt. For Americans, it's considerably more difficult. I can assure you that the "Average Dumb American" is going to have a significantly higher understanding of US geography because that is what they have familiarity with.
For instance, I live in Chicago, it will take me at least 6 hours of driving to get me to the nearest international border (Canada). If I were living in Munich (that's in Germany), I could be in Italy, France, Belgium, or half a dozen other countries in an equivelent amount of time.
How many Europeans can point out Iowa or Indiana out on a map? I'd guess about the equivalent to your challenge above. (I can't tell you how many Europeans I've met who were surprised to find out that Chicago isn't a US state).
Enough griping...More shooting... See you in the game!
