Link to the Past was an ending. Link kills Gannon, saves the princess, fixes the dark world, seals the rift between two worlds, makes a bunch of wishes and gets all kinds of goodies from all the thankful peons of Hyrule. Maybe even a promotion to nobility by the king. Then it deposits you back in the world pre-ending so you can go find the rest of the hearts and items, fill up your rupees and kill Gannon again.
Minecraft spews a wall of text at you and deposits you back into the world post-dragon go back and the dragon's dead, but the portal's still there. It's not an ending. It's a boss.
